And I realize Marquez weighed in at 142 compared to 146 for Cotto. Just wondering about this one. Could Marquez overcome the size advantage?

Marquez is like the uppercut king and throws a great str8 right.

Cottoe's flawed stance always invited uppercut sandwiches right to the bottom of his face and has shown himself to be open for rights.

Juan would have a rough beginning, he doesn't like left hooks which Miguel has, and take control as the fight goes on.

    Cottoe gets tired. Juan doesn't.

Juan also has better balance and footwork.

I might lean towards Cotto when he was the Pre-Margarito fight "machine"...
But would not count out JMM either.

But knowing what we know now about Cotto i'll admit it defo makes me look harder.
(That "I don't care what the fans think/I'm a big ***** & will bail in a fight" speech from last nights FACEOFF has diminished him in my eyes & shows why the PR fans never really rallied behind him like say a Trinidad.)

Jmm always struggles with mobile boxers with good jabs and fast hands. Cotto was at his best vs Mosley and used angles and fast footwork effectively. I still think Cotto if he had been a smarter fighter by clinching more when in trouble, knowing when to box and when to ko an opponent, etc might of been on Floyds or Mannys level. I think that version of Cotto that beat Shane might of escaped with a close decision over both Pacman and Jmm. Thats how good Cotto was and people seem to forget.

Marquez is a level above Cotto, Cotto is maybe stronger but Marquez will be far more accurate, far quicker, is a far better puncher, Cotto will be countered anytime he pressures. JMM UD or late KO

Makes me wonder. Does it mean Marquez can hang out with the big boys at WW now, or he simply just knows the tricks of Pacquaio?

Now if only you were not the biggest Floyd nutthugger on ESB, that could be taken objectively.

WTF does that have to do with anything? :nut

You know...Juan stop drinking **** a long time ago. Time for you to do the same.:good

    :deal

    Cotto by stoppage.

He was a beast, and deceptively fast. Great jab. Left hook.

Juan Manuel Marquez would get knocked down once in the fight from a left hook, but get up and see it to the bell.

The thing with Cotto is that if you cant tag him with anything that will hurt him itll be hard to beat him on points. I gave the Cotto the first 2 rounds against Pacquiao and he was winning the 3rd until the knockdown. then his self confidence just seemed to shatter.

Id say Cotto close on points, but it would be a great fight. their styles would match up perfectly

jmm by close UD, I feel cotto won't stop jmm easily. I could see him score a knockdown but he would pay dearly if he gets aggressive trying to take marquez out while having not so good stamina

it may seem crazy to some that marquez could now suddenly beat some welters due to his performance with pac but its true and its more about styles. I wouldn't pick marquez against clottey, margo, berto and mosley but he would beat ortiz
