Marquez is smarter than Pac and by a large margin. Marquez would actually do okay without boxing, an accountant or whatever, where as Pac was a street rat. And Marquez can smell a rat here.

It's an exo on paper but he's well aware Pac might just decide to land some big ones and he could end up in trouble, suddenly in a real fight that wasn't agreed on. Then if Pac manages to drop him or humiliate him, he'll just act innocent afterwards, didn't mean it to turn out like that etc. Pac's sparring history also tends to confirm he's undisciplined and turns training into wars.
