this is very fair for Juan. Juan wanted to move on and fight somebody else, but Arum is beggin Juan for the fight. Juan just knocked Manny out and they cheated Juan 3 times before that. So they can oay him 20 million or be left with no fight while Juan goes on to do what he originally planned to do in the first place

Yep. It's also not just about Marquez's own feelings on the matter but also the utter lack of leverage Top Rank has. Pacquiao-Bradley did comparatively awful PPV numbers and would probably do worse a second time. Rios isn't the draw Top Rank imagines him to be, and it makes no sense to put one of their young guys in against a Pacquiao coming off a loss since he'd likely get wrecked and the reward wouldn't be as big.

Based on that, I dunno, 15 mil a piece sounds fair.

Juan should get a major bump in his purse if he does square off with PAC again....but $20 million is excessive. With PPV's he can easily come close or obtain that number...but a guarantee? That's pricing himself out. His guarantee for the 4th fight was no where near $20 million.

Juan wasn't ever cheated.....all the fights were very close and could have gone either way. They just all went PAC's way because he usually scored Knock downs and inflicted more damage over JMM.

Juan could go on and fight 2 or 3 more times and still not make what he is able to make in one fight with PAC. That's the only reason he's giving this fight a 2nd thought.

20 million is fair to Juan because he doesn't really want the fight in the first place. So in a way, yeah he's pricing himself out, but if Arum really wants to make that fight, then he better pay up. It's a win/win for Juan. And I say Juan was cheated 3 times because that's how he feels and it goes into his decision

Yes, considering they were all close Fights, and JMM brought in the Mexican money to the fight...

He deserves it considering he beat PAC by knocking him out

JMM is bored sick of whupping Pac's ass and will only do it again for 20 million.

If Pac cares about his own legacy, he'll consider taking a smaller share.

I agree that he really doesn't want the fight in the first place.....I think a $20 million demand clearly depicts that....but to say it's "fair" isn't reality. it would be like Donal Trump asking for a BILLION dollars for his Trump Plaza to a multi millionaire and claiming that's a fair price because he really doesn't want to sell it. You can ask for anything but it doesn't mean you'll get it, nor does it mean it's fair.

I think there's another number that will get the fight done, satisfy Juan's financial demands and be fair for all parties involved. $20 million sounds like he's starting HIGH and plans to meet somewhere in the middle.....that is if Juan is really considering this fight. He he doesn't negoitate off of $20 million then it's clear he wasn't ever going to give PAC a 5th fight...and again...I wouldn't blame him. Juan is already rich beyond his dreams and what better way to cap off the rivalry than the way he Knocked Manny out?

Im convinced that the shot JMM KOed Pac with not only gave Pac some brain damage most likely, but it transfered down to his fans too.

I mean sure they have never been that bright to begin with, but after KTFO6, they have reached record levels of stupid.:lol:

JMM hasn't ever "Whupped" Manny...they both gave as good as they got but Juan has the one KO that was decisive.....before that Manny was the only one with Knock Downs and that's what people remembered most before the end of the 4th encounter.

I think it's safe to say that PAC absolutely cares about his legacy....just look at his resume....and look at how many times he's faced Juan. He didn't have to...but he was looking for a emphatic victory over Juan and it looked like he was well on his way in the 4th fight before his lights got put out.

It all depends how much Pacquiao and his team want the fight, Marquez is in the position he doesn't need a 5th fight, but the fact Pacquiao wants revenge may mean they are willing to pay him more for the chance at rematch.

Also who knows how big of a draw Marquez is now, look at Floyd and Manny when they beat a PPV star they themselves became PPV stars.

Give me a break with this legacy talk. Pacquiao saw no need to rematch Marquez (instead taking on the weakest beltholder at 135) after the 2nd fight and made him wait 4 years and weight-chase for the rematch. He told his fans after the 3rd fight to "get real" when asked if he lost. The Pacquiao-Marquez fights have only occurred in the last two years because Marquez was a free agent and Top Rank ran out of less dangerous moneymaking opponents. They had next to nothing to do with Pacquiao looking to settle scores.
