I seriously don't get where this stuff is coming from? Lets look at this rationally...

First off physically Khan has both a height (5' 10" to 5' 7") advantage and more importantly a reach (71" to 67") advantage. Not to mention from a stature standpoint he is already filling out well as a light welterweight.

Age-wise we have a 10 year gap (26 vs 36) and considering the wars that JMM has been in recently that really is much older in boxing years. This speaks to his speed and reflexes which he needs against someone with a reach advantage for timing (read pulling the trigger).

In his last 2 fights JMM struggled against a fighter Juan Diaz who many would say is as tailor made for a fighter like him as can be (come forward, suspect defense, and light hitting) and got dominated by PBF who although more defensive minded shares at the very least similar physical dimensions with Khan. Khan also has shown he knows how to stay on the outside and JMM doesn't have the punch, speed or reach at 140 (or any weight likely) to catch Khan. This doesn't even speak to the fact that Khan has the handspeed and offensive output to keep JMM at the end of his punches.

Sure there could be a scenario where JMM catches him early with something and is able to keep on him, but I just don't see how anyone could look at this matchup and come out thinking JMM should be favored. Just perplexing...

JMM is on the decline but definitely not shot. I'm picking Khan to win this fight but if he underestimates JMM because of how he fared against FMJ, he can KO Khan.

JMM making another dumb career move in a career already filled with them. If he's not going to defend his belts at 135 at least be savvy enough to face Hatton for a big payday.

Marquez has no business fighting above 135 which is already exceeding his optimal weight to begin with.

What a stupid thing to say....if he beats JMM now it wont count for **** because he was "shot" anyway.

Roach wouldn't of picked him unless he thought he was "shot" also. I don't think he is, and I think he will knock Khan the **** out.

    Bingo UR!:good

You cant look at just the Mayweather fight to determine that state where JMM is at now.......

FIrst off 147 lbs was too far off Marquez comfort zone, and secondly, in Mayweather you're talking about without a doubt the best overall combination of quickness, speed, and skill that boxing has to offer, and both in terms of offensive and defensive versatility.

Even in his prime both in terms of weight and age, of fighter of Marquez' style and attributes has his hands full against someone of the talents of Mayweather......so for Marquez to come off that fight where he was physically at a severe disadvantage, and for people to start labeling him shot, is ridiculous beyond comprehension.

Sure he's past his mid-thirties now, but you still put him in against any fighter short of a prime Mayweather who imo competes and very well may beat any fighter in any era in history, and I think its ridiculous to call Marquez shot based on what he showed vs Mayweather.

JMM should not be underestimated by anyone and especially a guy as chinny as Khan. I can easily see JMM countering Khan with something he doesn't see and stopping him.

I agree with this, it's not so much that JMM is shot, but the fact that he's struggling a bit at 135 (watch the Diaz fight), and anything higher than 135 is a step too far. I think Khan is too big for him.

Maidana has power and it's always exciting when a boxer has one punch KO power because you know something dramatic can happen at any point. However Khan is a lot more cautious under Roach and if Maidana can't land the power shots cleanly............I haven't seen much of Maidana though so who knows.

I would probably be most excited about a fight with Malignaggi. While not as quick as Khan, the dude has skills. You would have to give props to Khan for beating Paulie.

Bad move by Amir, hes doing what fraud usually does he says his opponents are **** and then cries afterwards for not getting the credit for beating them.

Hope he fixes this up in the future.

If this isn't the definition of puncher's chance I don't know what is.

Fact is just like Wlad at heavy everyone is going to have a chance against Khan because he's chinny but there are too many factors working against JMM here to say he has a legitimate chance of winning. Prescott popped the Khan chin-cherry and now Khan is going to be more careful and he has the hand speed and reach to make sure a slower JMM isn't going to get his chance. The anything can happen is just a cop-out to not admit this is just not a good fight for JMM coming off the PBF loss.

JMM is not shot. His best days are clearly behind him but he still can put on a good fight. Cant really judge his performance with the Floyd fight cause he didnt even belong at that weight. But the fights before hand he looked pretty dam good.
