Thoughts? JMM always seems very critical of Canelo and just recently he had Jacobs winning 115-113. I don't think I've seen him give Canelo any credit. I'm curious to know why JMM has some kind of animosity over Canelo.

Let's be real, there is good reason to dislike Canelo.

Also, Marquez decided to drink his own pee-pee to get an edge, whilst Clenelo flat out got caught doping. I would feel taste quite bitter to if my mouth was full of my own wizz and some other carrot top was doping.

Carl Froch defended JMM saying Jacobs won by adding Marquez was a world class fighter!

Marquez really does not like Canelo does he. I don't think Jacobs won that fight.

If he was truly pushing some nefarious agenda not giving Canelo any credit, wouldn't his scorecard be wider for Jacobs than 115-113? :dunno

JMM isn't a pro judge, he isn't accountable to anyone for his unofficial scorecards. He could literally call it a shutout for either guy and there are zero repercussions for him personally. So why on earth would he feel beholden to "only" have Jacobs edging Canelo by a round - in a fight that legitimately was a close, go-either-way fight - if he was attempting to denigrate Canelo? Hmm?

Precisely because of this defense he elicited from you. If he wants to be taken seriously, he has to act like he's paying attention and applying expertise rather than merely hating because he's jealous of Canelo's profile (which is probably the real reason he's down on him).

There's a reason no one ever took Wilt seriously when he criticized Michael Jordan. His comments were so over the top they were laughable, whereas Jordan's criticism of LeBron ("you can't stop him going right, so you have to force him left") is much more nuanced and taken more seriously. But of course his agenda ultimately is just as transparent as Wilt's or JMM's.

And then JMM twirled his mustachios and snickered evilly before slinking off to hide behind a cartoon tree apparently half the width of his own body... k.

You must not think much of JMM's intellect to believe such a tactic is beyond him.

Gingers are a persecuted minority in Mexico (and rightly so) and JMM is a fully paid up member of MAG (Mexicans Against Gingers) who has been very vocal in his criticism of Clenelo on numerous occasions.

I had it 115-113 Jacobs aswell and it's a solid score. 115-113 Canelo is a good score too. This was a fight where i can see a wide range of scores from 115-113 Jacobs to 116-112 Canelo everything is fine to me. Jacobs outlanded and outworked Canelo in some rounds, but Canelo landed the eyecatching counter shots and also was coming forward a lot so yeah...i can see both, the Marquez score and the judges scorecards. I like that because nobody can cry robbery. Jacobs did less enough to win those close rounds on the cards for many guys, for me he did enough in some rounds. It's about what you like, about styles. Canelo has a pretty entertaining style although i think he was way more entertaining vs. Golovkin II (Golovkin I was a run from Canelo btw).

I'd discount Marquez' scorecard when it comes to Canelo.
If I remember correctly, he gave Golovkin some rounds even Golovkin fans on this board did'nt have for him down the the stretch of their rematch in order to make his finally tally a draw. The 12th round in particular which even Abel Sanchez scored for Canelo, Marquez had for Golovkin.
