Don't twist things *******, JMM and his people refused the purse because they deemed it unfair since he was the champ(holding two belts; Pac held none)! And you're making it look like JMM decided to fight John for a measly 30K INSTEAD of fighting Pac, the John fight took place 2 years later as he was trying to rebuilt his career.:-(
I see what you mean. I just tried to clean up his English response since he pauses and skips so much.
Honestly, I think it's because he knows Pacquiao and thinks he can really beat him and prove he can match the phenom who has been dominating welterweights for over two years now.
JMM has been chasing PAC before his superstar days... so the money factor is stupid... JMM is not the one hungry for money like PAC who gets ****ed by his leeching team and promoter... PAC was the one who needed the convincing from arum to finally agree to fight JMM, it was funny when one of Pilipinas ask ARUM, "Arum how did you finally convince pacquiao to fight JMM?" epic question...
Along with matching him in two fights technically and blow for blow between a long span of his technical development and being the only person to do so within the last 9 years. The money is certainly there, but Marquez could retire comfortably with a great legacy behind him. It's a matter of pride. You don't get that good simply chasing pay days.
atsch :-( at some of you guys. When JMM said that it's 95% personal, I don't think he meant it in a way as if to say that he has a bone to pick with Pac. It simply means that he's doing it because he loves boxing! Hence the latter part This content is protected As for that guy Chino Trinidad, I see him more as a Pacfan(/*******) with a microphone than a sports reporter. :tired
It's the other way around. PAC has always wanted to fight Marquez but Arum didn't want the fight because Marquez is with GBP. He just agreed to pit them against each other when Marquez' contract with GBP expired last December.
hate to admit it but that's what Pac has after....biggest money fights available within or close to his size.
I agree. Its not really personal to Marquez as in he dislikes Pacquiao (as is the case with Pacquiao's dislike of Marquez) ......Marquez ever since those robberies has never had a bad things to say about Pacquiao, to the contrary he's always praised his abilities and continues to do so to this day. ......when I look at the other camp, both Pacquiao and Roach have a difficult time giving Marquez accolades. Both have been really sparse in giving Marquez compliments and its a result of Marquez twice gotten the better of them and their refusal to admit it. It goes to show the confidence each camp has in their own ability against the other that one camp dishes out compliments for their opponent left and right, and the other goes to great lenghths not to.
Pac said that he doesn't hate JMM and I agree that JMM doesn't seem to dislike Pacquiao however JMM did and has acted like a crazy ex-girlfriend that just can't move on. He has been harassing Pac off and on so I can understand when Pac says that he's irritated by him. This content is protected
