Really useful shot, underused. He makes it look like it's always available to him, when uppercuts are hard to land for most mid-long range fighter, especially as leads.
JMM is what every fighter should be. No non-sense Fists do most of the talking Takes on everyone Money rarely an issue
I actually rate this one: [yt]oRSxoba79p8[/yt] ...even though Ramos was chinny (down a bunch of times in his career, even in victories), he was no slouch being an Olympian and Pan American champion and usually got up off the canvas when put there. Never before Marquez had anyone knocked him out cold with a single blow. You might recall there was a frenzy of conspiracy theorists - mostly fans of a certain Marquez rival - crying "fix" when this originally happened, but that seems even more idiotic now than it did then. It was always just a clean KO to my eyes. :conf Some morons thought it didn't "look right", whatever that means, but giving it another watch now with fresh perspective two years on - yeah, dude got KTFO. That is all there is to it. Beautiful uno-dos.
Amazing video, Joe, and great thread. I'm no boxing historian, but I would sincerely like to see a better combination puncher than Marquez, if one has ever existed. Even when he's throwing out 8 or 9 punch combos, he still has great defensive awareness of distance, is very aware with his head movement, everything.
Sharp, crisp, technically correct punching? Yeah what a load of useless ****, silly for anyone to make a big deal of it.
Yes, a lead left uppercut, who else does that? It's so effective if you can be quick and accurate with it. Of course as always he makes it count more than most though. Lifts the head with the left lead uppercut, chops them down with the right hand.
then **** off. youre like a piece of **** on a shoe. you dont have any love for Marquez then get the hell out the thread. its a great thread - just like a great pair of new shoes - no one wants to get **** on the shoe - and no one wants your negativity in here
You really are an idiot! It's ok if you personally don't rate him highly, but as a boxing fan, to not be able to appreciate his skills, technique, and those beautiful combos he throws, it just plain stupid. Grow up dumbass.
