Pac was discredited for the barrera rematch, but marquez was not..they were both in the same year and this is a way past his prime barrera. JMM did a close decision win just like his fight in his rematch with pac only this time he did win. JMM's style is a nightmare for pac but against a prime morales and a prime MAB. I might have to pick them over JMM. Different styles, different fights. JMM is great, i like him as a fighter. The only thing i didn't like is all the crap about his legendary trainer nacho and all the bull**** decisions they've made in the past.

 

I'm sure that if you combine PPV numbers, Manny sold more fighting Barrera twice or fighting Morales in 2 of his 3 fights than he sold in 2 fights against Marquez

 

Or because the Morales & MAB fights made Pac an even bigger star. Much the same reason Floyd can draw 800k now fighting Hatton after fighting ODLH when he could only draw 300k for Gatti. JMM-MAB fight was seen as a great head2head fight yet that only drew 250k, heck Pac drew in 225k against Solis who is unknown and it wasnt even on HBO. Pac's rematch with MAB was seen as a much less important fight than JMM-MAB yet it drew 100k more. Its obvious who the bigger draw is, painfully obvious.

But I agree, fights sell more than fighters sometimes. Ruiz-RJJ is one of the biggest ppv numbers for Roy, Ruiz couldnt draw 10k ppv buys by himself...
