Lots of people get excited and happy about this guys technical skills. But that's only half his story. This guy was packing some serious cajones. Did he ever even clinch? Even when he was shocked by Pacquiao's speed and power in round 1 he didn't even clinch. He fought back like a true warrior. Even coming back throwing as hard as he could and brawling with Pacquiao the whole time. Going out on his shield, win, lose or draw. Legendary. All time great heart. There was no quit in this guy. What a shame that he was cheated and scammed by Mayweather dragging him up 4 ****ing weight classes from his best weight. And then Floyd didn't even make weight. His own steroid usage late in his career wasn't necessary, but ultimately can be forgiven with all he had done by that point.
There is no doubt that Marquez is one of the greatest warriors to ever lace them up. When he stepped in that square circle, there was no doubt that he came to fight.
Jmm is Mannys father...and floyds son... A legend and a warrior for certain.....some mw "champion" should take notice and stop fighting welterweights
SO? it still takes a warrior to beat Pac the way he did. Void was disgraceful and brought shame to the family. Anyway Marquez was busted up drinking his own blood then landed and monster shot on ****to and that was it.
Who gives a **** even if he did take something? All that would have done is even the playing field against Pac and Floyd.
Been saying it for awhile now when talking about a fighters pure boxing skill. Recent top notch boxers like Mayweather and Hopkins frequently use clinching tactics to stop opponent incoming. Marquez is one of those rare breed of skilled boxers who truly displayed his craft in the purest form, without clinch to defend incoming offense. LEGEND!
