If you think he's on the gear just because he looks ripped, you're reaching. You can't at all determine PED use by the build of a fighter. Especially when he's otherwise using specialized weight lifting and ploymetric techniques. PED's alone don't get you that build. Take any 39 year old who's never lifted weights, put him on a weight-lifting regimen, and he will get big.

And his legs look about the same as the Katsidis fight in terms of mobility. He didn't augment it, he carried it up.

If you going to discredit him for what you think is steroid use, without proof, let's discredit every boxer since the early 90's.

I'd say the 2nd and 4th were his best performances.

The 2nd fight is one of the closest, round 7 is the closest swing round which I give to JMM. After that, Manny definitely made improvements, they just weren't as dynamic and comprehensive as so many thought. And I called it, too.

Manny really fought the guys who were made for him (Hatton, Cotto) The Clottey win was a good W even though I didn't see these improvements.

I don't rate performance 4 that highly. The fight in reality was really just a slugfest and Manny found himself flat twice in 6 rounds against a smaller guy.

He didn't even have his most dominant round in that fight (round 1 of the first bout gets that honour)

He won more consecutive rounds than ever before against JMM. It was his biggest points lead. (Depending on how you score the first two rounds). He looked great IMO, using angles to his advantage and feinting and mixing up his punches very well. It wasn't simply a slugfest, and it wasn't just any smaller guy.

It wasn't a smaller guy period. Same reach, same height, maybe 2 or 3lbs between them on fight night.

    That's not a smaller guy.

In what sense? Like, how do I rate each of them on an ATG list?

Oh, you mean I don't get to rate Pacquiao on this? You *******...

    My top 10 Mexicans:

    1. Julio Cesar Chavez
    2. Ruben Olivares
    3. Salvador Sanchez
    4. Vicente Saldivar
    5. Juan Manuel Marquez
    6. Miguel Canto
    7. Erik Morales
    8. Marco Antonio Barrera
    9. Carlos Zarate
    10. Baby Arizmendi

Some notes on the list: JMM is right there with the Sal's (and Canto isn't far behind at all). Morales and MAB can be switched. I could see Zarate notched in above either of them. Pacquiao would be #2 if he were Mexican. #10 is open to several guys, but Baby beat Hank, so I'm most happy with him in the final spot.

The ones that were working with known steroid advocates? LikeMosley when he was with Conte? Absolutely I do.

Reaching? That assumes I have a bias against Marquez. Which is not the case.

Anyway, when even Canto is better fighting off the felt foot when you are I can't rate your skillset too highly.

    Great list.

Mine is quite similiar. I have Canto at 5, and JMM at 6. I have Kid Azteca at 10.
