When I clicked on boxing links from other boxing sites, it was full of opinions and very few journalist not Pinoy had JMM either winning or drawing.

If there was a headline link that stated that Pac got screwed, you could give it 100 to 1 odds it was a Pinoy site!

    Those are the facts friends!

The WBC wouldn't have changed it because it's discretionary on how to score a round. It doesn't HAVE to be scored 10-6 and therefore it is very hard to change the score after the fact once the score is tallied. It really is as simple as that. If they started changing it because a judge suddenly remembers AFTERWARDS that he got something wrong, well then you open pandora's box and judges could start changing anything anytime when they aren't happy with the outcome. Judging is already questionable in this sport.

BTW, the few sites I have visited in my research had the fight either a draw or a 1 point win for Pacquiao for what it's worth. AP had it a draw, Boxing Times had it for Pacquiao. I haven't visited a ton though.

Edit: Just saw an article in the Union-Tribune from San Diego who had it for Marquez by a point. Seems to me it was a highly contested fight no matter what, and the 2nd one should be our focus, not arguing over scoring from the first.

Who's even debating your statement here??

If you want to know exactly what was going throught JMM's thoughts at that very time....just ask?:D

I'll tell you......right after the fight had been completed, JMM speaking to Spanish television cameras on the third kd, stated that he felt discouraged after hitting the canvas for the 3rd time.....but after Pacquiao hit him when he was down, it lit a fuse from under him and he was then thinking within himself...."ese cabron me las va pagar!"

....translation....something to the effect of "that ****er is going to pay!"

I kid you not....thats exactly what JMM said to a spanish crew of camera's.:D

    ....what proceeded is boxing history!:yep

Correction, the judge said he was unaware that a round could be scored 10-6. He let it be known immediately because he thought he was under IBF rules (10-6 round cant be scored) and forgetting that the WBA title was on the line and it didnt have to subdue to IBF rules.

If the WBC could change the outcome of the Barrera/Juarez fight because an official was wrong adding up the totals AFTERWARDS, and change the outcome Matsuda/Lopez 2 days AFTERWARDS, then this is nothing compared to it. This isnt about one official thinking "hrrmmmm i think he won that round let me change the card" it was a techinical mistake.

....cant go back now and click on those now!

Does'nt matter now really, it will become very clear on March the 15th!

Correction: He thought that the Nevada Athletic Commision didn't want rounds scored that way. Not the IBF, WBA, or WBC. He asked the commisioner WHEN handing in the card what the rules on that was, not immediately.

The WBC changed the outcome because the score was added wrong in the MAB/Juarez fight. They did not alter a discretionary score of a judge. There is a HUGE difference in an adding error that has no ambiguity as opposed to changing the scoring of a judge at the end of a fight. If you do that, then any judge honestly or dishonestly can effect the outcome of a fight after its done. And the WBC has made many mistakes, so you have no basis for thinking they would change this in favor of Pacquiao. That isn't exactly based on fact.

Dont waist your time on that issue....the hardcore Pac fan cant filter that argument no matter how eloquent you put it.....

....there was a long thread about that very subject a few months back where the difference between how the MAB-Juarez scoring tabulation error was corrected and how it could'nt be done in the JMM-Pac scoring discrepancy because it was not a tabulation error.
.....yet very few Pac fans can filter the difference!

    First of all
(haha, you stole my "correction" meaning you learned something from me)

Second where did you hear he thought it was under Nevada Athletic commission he couldnt score a 10-6 round, the IBF is the only sanction not to allow it, Nevada has never had these rules i dont know where you are getting your facts at but they are completely wrong.

third, and even so key words there
and knew it was wrong, he realized just moments after the decision had been read this wasnt a 1 week later thing.

and finally there is no difference when changing a score for a round and incorrectly adding when both are clear ERRORS.

I understand what you are saying that we cant allow stuff like this to happen and i agree, but saying the WBC wouldnt change it is delusional when the other 2 fights i have mentioned were much worse situations than this.

I learned nothing from you. I was being as sarcastic as you.

    My facts are wrong?

    http://www.signonsandiego.com/sports/20040510-9999-1s10fight.html

And there is a BIG difference in changing the score of a judge after a fight is over and fixing an adding error. Adding up something correctly does not include any altering. None whatsoever. You simply add what's already there. Changing the scoring of a discretionary judge involves altering what is already there without knowing the motive for why the judge wants it altered. Certainly he deserves the benefit of the doubt from your perspective. But for all the commissioner knows the judge has a stake in it and only wants to alter the score once he realizes it doesn't present the outcome he desired. Judges everywhere could start claiming scoring errors whenever they choose. It's too ambiguous.

Even the cmmissioner said there is NO BASIS for protest because the scoring is discretionary.

And it's not my fault at all that you cannot fathom the difference in the situations. In the two YOU mentioned, the WBC changed something based on ACTUAL RULE BREAKING, or A FACTUAL ERROR. You are talking about a discretionary error, something that involves variables and where the WBC would have no way of knowing the reason for the scoring change. Only what someone SAYS. It's like the difference between fact and opinion. One is a clear error because it's on a piece of paper and everyone can see it and know the outcome should be different. There is no discretion in adding. The second is based on an opinion, one that can be altered at any time and no one knows the reason except the person with the opinion. So you cannot go back and allow someone to change their opinion whenever they choose. It would be too ambiguous.

When you mention Harold Lederman, you actually make the case for JMM!
You cant find a so called judge who's as inept as Harold Lederaman!

    "Jim!":D

Lederaman is such a joke, you take the 3 knockdowns that Pac scored in the first round and he still would have had pac winning 115-113, as it was he hillariously had pac winning 115-110!:rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl
I dont believe I went through a Pinoy site who had the audacity to quote that score for themselves!

Even if you get through boom boom now, weeks from now he'll be siding with the same argument he has now, as if your explanation to him now never occured!
Bellieve me, these Pac fans have selective memory!:D
