It seems JMM has a history with Cortez, I have never seen the Norwood fight, but JMM seems to be like those other fighters Casamayor and Winky Wright, who seem to think they have never lost a fight. Cortez could have easily stopped the fight after the third knockdown. It's funny he talks of a "push/knockdown" in the Norwood fight, yet never talks of the gift he got in the 7th round of the Barrera fight, when he was put on his butt by a crisp shot from Barrera. I have never heard of JMM saying that was a missed call and he really was knocked down.

Very true, but if it was a championship match I thought the three knockdown rule was in effect.

I'm not mad. Pac hit JMM with an illegal blow and Cortez did nothing. But then "the Mexican" (JMM's words) came out of JMM and took Pac to school for the rest of the night.

Its no big deal, Roach doesnt want him to ref the fight either. Remember when he said anyone but Cortez for the Mab rematch.

I hope Bayliss gets the job.

    Why would'nt he?
JMM was up, clear headed, not stumbling, and showing the ref he was ready to continue after each of those knockdowns!

Why the hell would the ref stop a fight when its clear that they can continue?

I'm not saying that Cortez is a good ref but really Marquez is delusional if he thinks Cortez has it in for him.

anyways i hope they get Smoger

JMM was trying to stay up. Holding himself from touching the ground. Pac hit him to make sure he went down and Cortez just pulled him away. Cortez saw what JMM was trying to do and didn't need to warn Pac.

Because he could of. JMM was taking beating in that round. And JMM went down the 3rd time and covered his face as if he was defeated(some refs would look at that and think hes done) but Cortez didnt.

No one would of argued the stoppage had it happened.

Any boxer who needs the ropes to stay up is down. Any ref and boxer know this, ESPECIALLY the position JMM was in.
