Why would a punch on the shoulder make him cover his face?

JMM covered his face because he thought the fight was over. I never said he covered his face because he was in pain.

Your dumbass thinks I said he was covering his face in pain.

He thought the ref was going to stop the fight! Once he heard Cortez counting, he opened his arms up and was like what? Its not over, your counting! and he got up.

    Dumb****.

There goes freddy completely ignoring my statement on the fight. Like he always does when proven wrong.

your always trying to change up what you really meant....

you meant to say that juan covered his face and cortez noticed that, so he should've stopped it based on that alone.....of course cortez would've assumed juan was hurt, therefore stopping the fight...you might of not said it directly, but you know damn well that's what you meant.....then i show you the video, and you change it up saying that the punch wasn't even all that.....completely making you look like a hypocrite, so now again you change it all around

I don't know why you argue with this kid.

He doesn't know anything about boxing, and you should know by know that he's biased against Mexican fighters.

Remember that thread he started way back in the day about how his friend said that no Mexican fighters have skill, all they do is lead with their chin, bla bla bla bla.

Oh yeah, and that it was true because his friend knew a guy that knew a guy that knows a guy that might be 1/4 Mexican.

I didn't say he should of stopped the fight. I said other refs would of saw that as a sign of being finished. Thus prompting them to stop the fight.

Juan was hurt, but not like Cotto-Corley hurt.

The punch wasn't a big deal. I never said it was or wasn't from the get go.

Cortez COULD of look at Marquez covering his face as a sign of being finished but he didn't because he saw how Marquez was with the two other KDs and gave him a chance.

Marquez himself thought the fight was going to be over and covered his face. Once he heard Cortez counting, he popped his head up to make sure and then he himself got up and continued fighting.

If there was a stoppage, no one would of argued.

Hey, the champ has every right to call the shots. Let him have it. Joe Cortez became consistently inconsistent with his performance anyway. As to borrow a way of describing a boxer's diminishing performance, Cortez is "slipping."

Nevertheless, JMM should at least show some gratitude for Cortez for allowing him to continue/giving him a chance to fight on. Another referee would've terminated his bout with Pac. I agree with Eze here. Some referee's primary concern is fighter's safety. Sometimes, getting KD'd 3 times is enough for them.

And about the "foul" that Pac commited. In the heat of the battle, should Pac really have to check JMM if any part of his anatomy is touching the canvass so he could back off and let the referee administer the count? Of course not, JMM is still upright while holding the ropes. Pac was trying to finish the job. If any guy should have them separated, or who should've callled for a break in the action, it's the ref. not Pac. In retrospect, why didn't Cortez immediately moved between the fighters if JMM was indeed in such a precarious situation?

like stated before, it doesn't matter what manny saw, or what he was aware of in the heat of battle....the point is, there are rules to follow, that shouldn't be determined by a boxers vision at the time of the knockdown, or state of mind during an action packed first round.....

most fouls are accidents, but they still get docked points....
