I understand, and I know there are rules, but wasn't it the ref's job to warn, dock points or disqualify fighters? Not the fighters. In the case of Pac, ok, let's assume he indeed commited a foul against JMM unconsiously as he was gunning for a KO, should Pac himself determine if it really was a foul and if he knew he did, ask the judges to take a point of him for hitting a downed opponent.

    Haven't you all noticed?

All the arguments will just lead to Cortez doing such a shitty job on the fights he worked with.

i'm defending juan's words on this one, not manny's...i really understand why juan wouldn't wan joe in there....wether or not he really feels joe has something against him shouldn't even be a issue, cause joe alone by himself has put himself in that place by trying to make a name for himself and not letting fights live out to be what they could've been......

IMO, joe dug his own grave....

Marquez knows that Oscar pretty much owns the refs so its either a front or he thinks maybe Oscar may want Manny to win.

I wouldnt want Cortez to work this one.. I can see him cutting JMM slack and not stop the fight when it should be. PAC has to win this by KO no other way hes winning this with Oscar, JMM and Cortez

I hate the way some of the Mexican brothers try to use reverse psychology and pretend that JMM might be at a disadvantage.

Any objective observer can come up with only one conclusion on March 15th. Manny has to KO JMM. Its the only way to win. This is ****in GBP you're up against..80 Million Pinoys have nothin on him

Why do you say that....didn't we just see a close fight go to a Top Rank fighter over a GBP fighter?

Seems like grasping at straws. Pacquiao just beat MAB by decision.....Same promoters.

I love how Cortez for years has consistently been rated as one of the best refs in the game, but after reffing the Mayweather-Hatton fight he's suddenly the worst. Its a shame refs are getting a bad rap for trying to enforce the RULES.

Good! I think everyone (diehard Floyd fans included) can agree that Cortez did one of the worst jobs of reffing a big fight ever. We are all just lucky that it didn't seriously affect the outcome of the fight. I was worried that this guy would get to ref another big fight. After that last display he shouldn't be allowed near one for a very longtime.

and if JMM beats Pac does Oscar get his big money ticket with Manny Pac?

    I don't think there's a conspiracy involved...just a really REALLY shitty ref.

That's true. I don't remember if there was a three knock down rule in that fight or not but yeah, that first round cost him the win, not Cortez. Sure he did a lot to win, but six points in one round is a lot. Pac says they shaved a point and because of that he should have won. I see why he says he won, but the draw makes sense.
