Not here to spoil the party and I know the cover was epic, but weren't they able to get Juan on a photshoot?

As far as I remember, all the photos of previous FOTY winners on the cover were taken on a studio.

I don't see how Juan could not get fighter of the year, Nonito had an awesome year, but Marquez had a top 5 p4p fighter on the floor for more than a minute... Just my humble opinion

Well, it is def one of the two!

If we're going by the significance of a KO, visually or statement wise, then how about Nonito putting all 4 of his top 10 opponents on their ass? Repeat, all 4 of them...

It's close. The difference is JMM's other win. Fedchenko does close to nothing. Much less significant than even Donaire's KO of the near ancient Arce. If it was a top 10 opponent instead of Fed, that would almost certainly be enough to sway the balance in my eyes.

Naw man not even close. How are you going to compare beating the fighter of the decade to 4 decent, but not so great fighters? You can't! If Nonito in 2013 destroys Rigo and Mares, he'll be FOTY 2013. But its not even close bro. Good run by Nonito in 2012, but not great. And I'm a big fan of Nonito always will be he's the real deal. I think this past year for him even was lackluster.

I rate Nishioka very highly. #1 at 122, and while maybe not on any top 10 P4P lists, I believe he was a sure fire "top 15 in the world, all divisions."

Quantity vs. Quality. At a certain point, quantity does mean more, otherwise your (and my) boy Salvador Sanchez would be a consensus top 25 ATG.

I'm sure people will remember 2012 as the year of the sleeping Pacquiao not the year of Nonito KOing an old ass Travieso. Don't get me wrong Nonito had a great run, all good wins but you can bet your ass he'd trade all them wins for a KTFO over Pac if he could.
