Juan Manuel Marquez should contune his careeer at 140/147.

I think 140 is perfect for him at this age.

I would prefer he didn't rematch pac, he's better than that. He should fight other suitable 140 lbs fighters, but should stay away from Khan, he's too tall.

 

It's fair to say Marquez was in better shape against Pacquiao than he was against Floyd so it's possible he could even improve on that Manny performance, whether it be against Pac or not.

He looked visibly in way better shape than the Mayweather fight and if he sticks with his new methods it'll be interesting to see how things play out.

 

I wouldn't fight a fourth fight! But in all honesty, it's easy for and everyone else to say and feel like this. Marquez should basically dictate all the terms to the fourth fight. But then I ask this question, what will it mean anyway. If Pacman wins in the same manner will we have a fifth segment? If Marquez finally wins, does it make him better than Pacman? If that coin is on the table Marquez, take the fight. if not, then make him wait like he did to you all these years.

 

Beating Rios, Guerrero, Khan, etc. would definitely enhance his legacy though; there exist fighters outside of Pac that aren't "bums" by any stretch. Maybe he didn't beat Pacquiao that Saturaday night to you, but to him and to a vast majority of viewers, he did. With that in mind, what is there left to prove? He may not want what in his mind would be another undeserved "L" should he fail to knock Pacquiao out. A whole 8 weeks strain on a tired body. He can be more confident in his accomplishments fighting fighters with considerably less star (or buying) power.

 

Personally i wouldn't blame him if he retired.

Imagine training that hard, performing that well, and going away from the fight thinking you were robbed for a 3rd time.

Where would you ever find the motivation to train again???

if he can't get a rematch with Pacman
he should fight Khan, Maidana and Morales @ 140

 

Not sure what he is going to do, but I do think 140lbs gives him more options. I would advise him to stay right clear of Khan though. The style and size advantage does not match up well with him at this age.

The Morales fight is right there for him at 140 although how late the fight is the timing has kinda fallen back into place (obviously both diminished though)

 

Jmm vs morales or pac vs jmm 4 has to be next for jmm, i prefer the first one.
Jmm vs rios/maidana/matthysse/guerrero would be cool as well, as would jmm vs tim

 

I'd love to see JMM keep fighting-he dominated the #1 fighter in the world and got robbed-

HE CAN TAKE OVER 140 AND BE A TOP 3 IF NOT THE BEST-PROBLEM IS, MOST OF THE GOOD FIGHTERS AT 147 ARE MOVING UP IN THE NEXT 12 MONTHS.
