At 126 or 130. How does this one go?

    Interesting.

As Lomachenko will limit JMM’s counter opportunities, force him to come forward and cut angles, and is probably a bad matchup for him.

BUT; Loma is aggressive. Marquez has great timing, even though Loma isn’t one to give up patterns or be predictable.

And of course Linares, always a flaky fighter who is more style over substance, recently decked him.

So ‘too close to call’ would be my pick. Maybe I’d favour Loma, but he’s never fought anyone like Marquez, who was a very special fighter indeed despite having some average performances in non-favourable stylistic matchups.

Marquez is my guy but Loma’s feet, angles and movement would just be a mess for him. I think he’d lose a close but clear 7-5 fight.

Marquez would time him and KO him imo.

JMM is Lomas ring IQ equal but this matchup is about styles at which Lomachenko is the master of outmaneuvering boxer/punchers like JMM I also have a hard time seeing Loma being walked into a punch like Paq did....Paq is not an equal to Loma in any way except speed and better power but not boxing ability or angles

It’s incredible that after 12 professional fights people can talk about Lomachenko and his boxing IQ in these terms and it’s not hyperbole. He’s a phenom. I just hope the type of fights and fighters emerge that can test him to the level they were tested.

I’ve had the pleasure of seeing him live six times and it’s always worth the admission. I know I’m seeing a fighter I’ll be talking about when I’m an old geezer.

Bump, these guys probably match-up a little differently to what we were all thinking in 2018.

Nightmare scenario for Loma. He might have some slight footwork advantages on old man Marquez, but Loma would have a lot of difficulty with those up close, in his face combos .
This is not Guillermo Rigendox, like Campbell or even Devin Haney we're talking about here. Marquez will be there to throw hands, and it will be interesting to see how he reacts to that.

I'm sorry, I know a lot of ppl on here look up to Loma, but there's just something about his crybaby antics after the Devin loss that rubs me the wrong way, which was made even worse by a recent Instagram post I seen if him crying after an amateur loss. I'm sorry, I just can't rock with that. We clowned Devin for not being able to take a loss but we should keep that same energy for Loma

Lomachenko is an ATG in terms of pure skill, ring IQ etc, he’s seen as an underachiever even though he’s a 3 weight world champion, that says something.
Lomachenko doesn’t blitz in in the same patterns and writhe the same number of punches as Pacquiao, he varies it more.

I wouldn't say Lomachenko is an ATG in ring IQ definitely not.

Lomachenko gave away the first 6 rounds vs Lopez which cost him the fight, he didn't press enough vs Haney in the later rounds, and he showed naivety vs Salido.

A fighter with an ATG ring IQ doesn't lose those 3 fights.

Lomachenko was definitely better at 126. Marquez might've been better at 135.
