Juan Manuel Marquez vs Aaron Pryor

I thought about this matchup just the other day, would have been a classic :good

 

I feel Marquez looks good at LWW or WW more because he has Pac's number,but I'm still drawn to a late Marquez stoppage here.

 

If he walked through Arguellos shots, he'll walk through Marquez's.

Pryor by Stoppage.

 

Pryor should get him somewhere around the middle rounds of a 12 round fight, maybe round the 7th or 8th. Pryor was technically better than Pacquiao and had underrated accuracy. I'm confident he'd do a better job landing on Marquez, imposing his will, and keeping his workrate higher than Pacquiao did throughout their fights. And if Pryor turned boxer, it'd be difficult for Marquez who has never had good front-foot footwork. He falls off balance, overreaches, and extends too far when forced to play the pressure fighter. Pryor would eat his share of hard Marquez counterpunches, but he'd be too much of a buzz-saw for him and have too many options. I don't see any way he loses this fight. Arguello's another one I'd favor over Juan Manuel at 140 pounds.

 

As much of a counter puncher JMM Pryor was that much more of a smuther er (is that a word ) ..He'd be on JMM from the gate Pryor by UD or stoppage ..

 

The Hawk would overwhelm him big time!!!

 

I love to see JMM take on top LWW and even top WW, but a Pryor -JMM fight would not take too long. Pryor by TKO 8! Hell, even Pac could not win over Pryor on a hypothetical match.

Marquez UD, better boxer and counters Pryor continuously. A hard fight but Marquez lands the better punches

 

Pryor by decision. As usual, JMM doesn't do enough to impress the judges and pull out a close fight. If Pac couldn't get Marquez out of there after knocking him down 3 times in 1 round, I don't think Pryor would stop him.

 

Pryor wins if he has Panama Lewis and the magic bottle in his corner.

If not, the pee drinker wins.
