Edwin was a strong Lightweight, a mountainous puncher, and who actually possessed considerable technical ability. I tend to think he went the way as most big punchers; forgetting about setting up the big shots, and rather just went out looking for the knockout. This cost Rosario, but he didn't have the best of chins either. Again, as was the case with so many big punchers. That being said, Marquez isn't at his best at 135lbs and has been rocked and troubled by lesser fighters. I think Rosario makes this a rough and tumble kind of fight, and Marquez gets knocked out midway through a competitive equation. We haven't seen the elusive and safety first side of Dinamita since he's campaigned as a Lightweight, and Rosario was strong enough to impose his will.
At Lightweight ,Chapo is too strong for JMM, even tho Dinamita would have his moments, once Rosario lands a clean shot, Marquez gets floored and hurt, and its all Rosario after that.
If its the Chapo that destroyed Bramble, then JMM has virtually no chance IMO. Rosario by mid round KO.
Edwin Rosario was awesome. His punches were great to see when they landed, almost like Hearns landing. They had that kind of effect on guys. He would do a feel out round in round one and start to land in rounds 2 and 3 and stop JMM in 3 or 4. The only question I have about Edwin is how he lost to Ramirez in the rematch. Edwin had a weakness in stamina and chin, and Ramirez was durable, so once Ramirez turned the rematch into a war Edwin got tired and Ramirez came on. Rosario had a great career but it should have been greater. He was that good.
