Dinamita vs Terrible at 126 who wins prime for prime??? Prime JMM was a very patient counter-puncher. Morales an excellent all around fighter who lovedd to brawl. Who would win? The only guys to beat Pacquiao and even compete with him

It' a war with either guy having a good chance. I'd say JMM is able to neutralize Morales's offense often enough in exchanges and earns a close decision. Barrera was able to capitalize on his aggression with accurate combinations of his own. Maybe he gets robbed by a point because of going backwards.

Morales has the chin & power to get the better of JMM in the exchanges & the outside boxing ability, footwork & jab to at least match JMM in a technical boxing match.... Erik scores a flash KD & does more damage en route to a 7-5 decision.

If Jmm can get a drawloss and split with Pacman.. while Morales just edged a decision then ost convinvingly twice.. I'd have to say JMM... plus he is a brilliant counterpuncher who plays defense first (or at least did)... and does great against aggressive fighters (such as Diaz, Katsidis)... he takes this I think but it is close.. and Morales is beyond live.... Morales could get the KO any second really... so JMM would have to be cautious

:huh Don't understand this logic. And while Morales "edged that decision" it's not like anyone was/is suggesting that Pacman won. It was a close but clear victory for EM.

Anyways JMM vs. Morales in my opinion Morales would win 115-113, 116-112. His boxing ability is very underrated by some.

Sorry... I meant to say... had a draw AND a split loss...... but I still think JMM wins... don't get me wrong... Morales can box pretty well.. he wasn't just a slugger.. he was very talented and had well timed punches.. but if JMM can hang with Pacman... what makes me think he couldn't have done the same to Morales... its close...

Damn Bogo you a mind reader!:D Excellent analyses no doubt it would be close, but Jmm usually did get the short end of the stick in important matches the public felt he won like with Norwood, John, and Pacquiao probably due to his style. I think the result would be similar to the Pacquiao fights.

The highlighted ruins an otherwise good post.

You're not analyzing the strenghths and weaknesses of both fighters when you say Morales can get a KO any second.

When you look at Morales' resume from 126 lbs to present you'd see that Morales does'nt have KO power at 126 lbs and above.
The best caliber opponent he faced at these weights were distance fights.
....the only KO of note at 126 lbs and above was against Kevin Kelley who had a less than average chin.

When I look at both Marquez and Morales, the only advantage I can see that goes Morales' way is his reach advantage. Quickness, speed, power, stamina, all side toward Marquez' way.

Marquez is the naturally bigger fighter and has to many advantages.
The reach advantage Morales has would be nullified by Marquez quickness and speed on the counter.

I'd be inclined to say that Marquez outboxes Morales to a comfortable decision, but I cant ignore that Morales' stamina even at his utmost prime is somewhat suspect.

MAB was clearly the fresher fighter down the stretch in all three fights with Morales.
.....and in the fight Morales won vs Pacquiao, Pacquiao took the late rounds.

Marquez is too accurate a counterpuncher, and would have laid a foundation of body shots in the early to midrounds to really soften Morales up for a customary strong finish by Marquez.

    JMM KO 10 Erik Morales.
Too quick, too fast, to versatile, too good!!!

I'd always favour Morales in this match up, I think he'd win a competitive, clear decision with his straight punching. :rasta

    Morales by UD

JMM is severely overrated. The guy in his prime lost to Norwood and John
