Do those who want Pacquiao to fight Marquez at 140 (I am one of them) acknowledge that Pacquiao had a size disadvantage against Cotto, Clottey, Margarito, and now Mosley?

A lot of people have some good points on here, but at this point in time, even if they fight at 140, I think Pac is the bigger, stronger, and fresher fighter now.. If it would have happened sooner, then it could've been one hell of a trilogy, but now I think Pac ko's JMM in the late rounds..

I can see a lot of people asking for this fight to happen, and then when it does, people will start backlashing Pac for fighting a smaller, washed up fighter..

It doesn't matter. Roach said Pac could easily make 140 but he prefers 147 because at 147 he can eat as he pleases and that makes him happy.

End of the day, Pac weighs in 148-50 fight night regardless of whether he comes in for a 140/147/150 fight. Just look at his past 3 fights at that weight, his fight night weight has pretty much been the same.

JMM wont be outweighed much on fight night, 2-3lbs at most. Isn't this the same argument a lot of guys are using to say Pac was bigger than DLH, cos of fight night weight? Well back to you.

its funny how people will say pac needs to go down in weight or catch to make it even for marquez and these same people are saying its unfair for other fighters to go down or catch for pac. So these same people will say marquez is the superior boxer then pac, so deserves the fight to be at a lower weight or catch?.

you have one of the best technical version of marquez versus the one demensional pac and get a draw (a draw marquez was happy to get, even he thought he should have lost. watch the tape after the fight, but the draw was the best decision). you have a techinical but willing to brawl version of marquez at his comfortable weight versus a pac who had to go down in weight mid plan/camp to fight marquez becuase the fans demanded it and marquez wanted the fight at that time (the fight he refused earlier after getting the draw) a fight that was more lucrative then the fight pac camp had planned for and money is the biggest factor in making a fight today. Even if marquez won that fight from a armchair view. pac won the crowd (i was at this fight every one thought pac deserved the win no one was arguing the decision at the fight its only after hindsight and scrutiny. i thought a draw again would be more deserving after watching it again but im bias since being at the fight)

now we have a more willing to brawl stronger older and slower version of marquez who has had 2 fight experiences with pac to know whats coming based on his last two fights. versus a bigger and harder hitting, more resilient, more demensional, slower version of pac. personally based on these two track records a 140-144 should be the weight. neither should complain. marquez fought at 144 against the p4p 1 maybe the best in the world who didnt even honor weight and still went 12 thats a win in my book you can say untested but look at who he was fighting. and pac shouldnt complain about it otherwise hes just being hypocrytical to demand a 147.

but at this stage pac wins. marquez made the mistake of not taking the rematch which he was at a better position to win then, then he is now. if he took the rematch we could of have a trilogy 3-4 years ago with marquez getting 2-1-0 against pac now its probably gonna be a pac 2-1-0.

Meet in the middle at 140 like normal boxers.

You can't say Pac is a beast for taking on big strong welterweights as a small one, then say he shouldn't move down at all for a small lightweight. It just makes sense.

JMM has slipped, but he has gotten better in a few technical areas as well. It would be a good fight.

Pacquiao has already beaten fighters in the welterweight. Why should he go down to accommodate Marquez at 140 when he's already comfortable at 147? If Marquez really wants Pacquiao, he should fight him at his best weight.

First fight with JMM, One judge scored it wrong thats why we ended up with a draw.
Second was a SD for Pac.
When did JMM beat Pac? Damn get your facts straight.

Oh yeah, If the fight ever happens this coming November which is likely to happen because JMM is a free agent now. Get your excuses ready because Pac will beat Marquez AGAIN.

    @ 140lbs = [insert excuse here]
    @ 141-144 = [insert excuse here]
    @ 147 = = [insert excuse here]

Can you please make the poll public so we can see who were the delusional people who picked Marquez to win at 144?

This is nuthugging at its finest.

Since it was ignored here, I'll repeat it again:
"So it was OK for Mayweather to demand a catchweight of 144 AND BREAK IT but Pacquiao is such a douche for demanding the same?"

Also, the biggest draw in boxing must cave in to a relative nobody (relative since outside of Pac, he can't draw the fans in) in the boxing world today because "it's unfair" , but it is OK for Mayweather to always command the negotiations because he's the bigger draw?

    You haters disgust me.

I’ve said it a gazillion times, that it doesn’t really matter which weight these two fight at. Since their last meeting, both have continued to weigh exactly the same on fight-nights. If it’s at 140, JMM and Pac will be 144 and 148 on the night. And if it’s at 147, guess what, JMM and Pac will still be 144 and 148.

This is a fight which, in reality, doesn’t even need a weight limit of any kind. Because when both men have trained and conditioned themselves to their prime weights, they’ll be around that 140-147 region. For once, this is a fight which won’t be affected by size or weight.

Really? He said that? What about this one?

"MANILA, Philippines – Boxing coach Freddie Roach said anyone who would like to fight Manny Pacquiao, including Mexican Juan Manuel Marquez, will have to do it at the welterweight division (147 pounds).

I don't get why people always miss this.

Pac's camp even said IMMEDIATELY AFTER the fight with Margarito that they're not fighting at any weight above Welter again, but Pac is avoiding Sergio Martinez now.
    Are you ******s or something?
