Well, if you count robberies as losses, then that's on you. Most others know Marquez won those fights!

 

you cannot say a fight he did not win is a win. That is just an opinion. Whether judges made bad decisions or not, they are the decisions. Hearns got a draw with Ray in a fight I thought he won in the rematch, but he didn't win. The judges said he didn't. What does it matter what I say or any other fan says. It doesn't change any official decision. Marquez only won one of those fights, and Pacman's career is so much greater than Marquez. Pacman's opposition was so much better and Marquez had a good style matchup with him, but that is about it. Manny is great and I don't think Marquez is. Marquez is hall of fame for sure.

We all know the real reason you emphasize that criteria is because it favors your hero to do so. It’s still not how you score a fight.

 

Marquez refused the rematch because he was getting the hell beaten out of him, almost stopped, if not for the PEDS, Marquez would have been knocked out and would have if Pac had not got careless and overconfident. Marquez knew he would have lost the rematch, esp. without PEDS!

I have no horse in this race but in the era of memes and pictures being passed around the internet forever, is it really possible to say Manny won that rivalry? At best there’s a 50/50% divide on whether or not there were any robberies in the first three fights, and the definitive victory was probably the first huge fight meme passed around social media.

It might sound really stupid but I think the humiliation of the highly publicized nature of that knockout is something Manny hasn’t been able to live down in the boxing realm since.

 

Same thing here, all robberies. If going by your logic, perhaps we should look at that fight as a draw too! The official result matters only!!

 

No I'm consistent with my scoring philosophy no matter the fighter. Don't lose sight of what pro boxing comes down to.

Sore Pacquiao fans: "Pacquiao won 2-1-1!!!" when it's obvious Marquez AT LEAST won 3 of those bouts, if not 4 and of course knocked him dead in their last fight. Marquez laid him out on his face.

Same Pacquiao fans: "Pacquiao beat Timmy 3 times!"

You can't just say someone one if they didn't win on the scorecards. And it was not clearcut he won. I thought Manny won most of the fights. The judges score the fights. The fan's don't mean that much.
