jmm was 140 in his last fight. cotto comes in @160. so, what do you think happens when a 140 lb fighter faces a 160 lb one?

 

I actually like this fight better then mayweather.

hell, i even think cotto could also kd pac with the jab that got clottey.

if cotto body slammed clottey without even trying, jmm will be bitched slapped, wither and die - along with his delusional nuthuggers.

 

I'm really gutted about JMM-Mayweather. Even as nervous as that fight made me, there was a small part of me that didn't just hope against hope but believed Marquez could pull it off. And if he lost, unless it was utter domination - well, no shame losing to the king.

Picking him blind against any welter without a frame of reference (and Mayweather would have been a fantastic - perfect, actually - barometer with very little risk, at least in terms of career/rep damage in the event of a loss, banked against the reward) is tough.

At 140 this is an absolute FOTD. 147, Miguel slows down a little, Marquez probably lets his newfound musculature go to his head and go into the aggressive mode he's been trending towards, Cotto goes into the boxing mode he's been trending towards (career counterpuncher stalking and career pressure fighter circling...go fig :yep) and we get a still very good but not as thrilling bout. I honestly can't pick a winner at either weight. Logic would seem to say Cotto, only because JMM would appear to have no business packing on so much weight, but we're living in a brave new world with the trail blazed by JMM's perennial equal Pacman, so who knows...

 

cotto is physically strong, and I think Josh is a bigger guy in stature

 

Cotto would be too big for marquez.. the only chance of marquez beating cotto is through being evasive which he is not

 

Christ I can't believe what I'm hearing I guessing cotto last outing has drugged everyone to the point of no return...skill wise cotto is an A and jmm is an A± except believe it or not cotto has better bob and weave ability and a double shot gun jab that he shoots with excellent timing and strengh...that alone would put jmm in a world of ****. The difference in strengh and the close proximity of offensive skill btwn the two only spells beat down for jmm...nothing against jmm he's elite but cotto would ultimately batter him.

Marquez is a much better boxer but he is no welterweight. I don't even think he could hold the weight as well as Pacquiao, and Pac is no welter either.
