I'd say Kats and and Diaz were A- fighters. It's tough to gauge where Casamayor was at that stage.

We all saw what JMM did to a pressure fighter in Katsidis the other week. Hatton would be no better and if anything would be dropped sooner and finished.

He was a great fighter in his day but Ricky if he's going to come back (I hope not for his health) should look elsewhere than JMM.

Undefeated non coke head Hatton would beat him. If Hatton really got off the coke, trained hard and stopped gaining weight I honestly think he could pull it off if he came back.

 

An appropriate fight that I'd be interested in seeing. (if Ricky can get his life together)

 

one end u got a guy who drinks beer that looks like ****, and on the other end u have a guy who drinks **** that looks like beer.....one guy downs beer then takes a ****....the other guy downs **** like beer......guess that didn't really answer the thread though

maybe after a couple tuneups to see how much hatton has left. if hatton looks good fighting a fringe contender type from 140lbs fighting at 147lbs for starters, then maybe a witter fight at 147lbs.if hatton gets by those two, then he could fight marquez at a catch weight of 143lbs or so.jmm should change his nickname to the surgeon,he is that good. the thing is,if hatton were to win he wouldnt get any credit because of marquez age,it would be like the castillo fight.people would say that jmm got old over night.if hatton was in his prime he would have a good chance,but now i get the feeling jmm would take hatton apart.

simply coming off wins doesn't make you elite by default..

imo, juan diaz and katsidis are B and C level fighters respectively. Casa was obviously shot when they met. :deal

 

No one said it made them elite, it made them real opponents that were actual champions coming off of good victories and each one were at the top of the division that Marquez moved up to and try to conquer which he did tremendously. Each one of those fights had a 50/50 chance that Marquez was gonna lose. It's not Marque's fault he derailed these guys at having any chance to create a name for themselved, Diaz had so much potential to be the next big thing... but JMM ended it by a tremendous KO victory... thats what happens when you face prospects like Juan Diaz, Kats. They have the talent but not the name.

They were all good B level fighters, Maruqez did well by moving up...

Now 140 has A level fighters and that's next if PAC runs to Mosely... :bbb

 

how is katsidis B level??

if you are B level, you dont take the #3 p4p'er into a war which people call FOTY for that many rounds.... B level fighter by someone like marquez would have been completely embarrased, like haye harrsion
you cant just go saying he's B level after the fight.... before hand the odds were relatively even, most fancying JMM on points - that doesnt speak like #3p4p VS b level fighter to me
