Most people here are discussing a fight between Pacquiao and Provo, or a fifth fight between JMM and Pac, but no one here has seemed to mention a fight between Shawn Porter, and Juan. What's is the general consensus of the board regarding this fight. Brushing all politics aside, this could prove to be a fairly entertaining scrap (not unlike most Porter and Marquez fights) where Marquez emerges as the victor and becoming the first Mexican to be a five weight division champion. Who u got? :bbb
Idk stylistically, I think Porters wild shots are wide open for counters by JMM but Porter seems way to strong and I feel he'd just run through the old man. I say Porter KO but a JMM KO wouldn't surprise me either (after he found the fountain of youth lol).
Would Porter's chin hold up to Marquez's right hand bombs? That's a question. I can actually remember when even Devon Alexander's punches were stopping Porter in his tracks so it would be interesting to see how he handles the combination punches of someone who hits even harder than Alexander. Porter's style of jumping in explosively makes me think he would knock him cold out like he did Pacman.
I thought alvarado was going to finish off Marquez and man I was wrong. I remember people questioning jmm since before the katsidis fight, but he proves us wrong after each fight. Porter vs jmm would be a war, porter has not been broken like mike and porter would show jmm no respect. 50/50 fight.
I thought Porter being the good christian boy he is, with his supposed superior moral values would abstain from something as archaic as cheating. :conf I guess genuflecting before the altar of the lord, while at the same time having a complete disregard for any of the commandments he has set out in his holy scriptures is good enough for him to feel satisfied, and be able with a straight face to call himself a good christian man. :conf
Porter's best chance is to drop and stop JMM in the first third of the fight. Otherwise I see Marquez doing what Marquez does to him.
Well good luck to him doing that. Hard to envisage someone with a 60%KO rate stopping a great like Marquez early.
