In the post fight interview Tevor McCumby claims he was "too stiff and too white" for Watkins. He says he is proud to have retained his RWGSD World Title. He ducks the inevitable Hopkins and Ward questions saying 'he's gonna spend some time with his dog Bruce and his Uncle Steven then decide what he's gonna do' and finally dedicates his victory to God as without him none of this would be possible.

Watkins claims he was robbed with the first knockdown and thought he won the fight. He wants a third fight with McCumby but may contemplate retirement.

 

Flash knockdown as both were trading punches. Right hand from Watkins sent McCumby down, but Trevor won most of the round and didn't seem hurt following the KD.

 

Solid shot, but sloppy defence from McCumby, left himself wide open and got caught flush in the mouth.

 

2-9 in his last 11, not bad.
