Gamboa wants big fights, besides Pacquiao, Marquez would be one of the bigger fights he could land as JMM is a top 10 p4p fighter and the man at lightweight. I know its kind of foolish to assume Gamboa could jump 2 weight divisions and compete with lightweights but IMO Gamboa is a physical freak ala Pacquiao who could move up and carry his speed and power. Besides Marquez is a blown up lightweight. So who would win and how would the fight play out?? I think it would be a good fight but I don't think Gamboa is active enough to beat Marquez. I could see Marquez timing Gamboa and hurting him, dropping him. I got Marquez by TKO round 10.
It would be a great fight!! I see JMM countering Gamboa all night but Gamboa would have to much power and to much speed. gamboa actually has good defense nows, and get of the way of punches very well. I think they would be trading rounds but by the 8th round the power of Gamboa taking a toll on JMM. I hate to say it but I think Gamboa would get stoped, only because Gamboa knows if he was to win that fight he would be a superstar so he would unload on Marquez. Gamboa TKO 9
Marquez would take away the punching angle and punish the relatively small but vital weaknesses in Gamboa's guard when throwing.
Ridiculous fight. Not only do I think JMM is a better fighter p4p, but he's also ATLEAST 2 whole weight divisions bigger than Gamboa. Marquez would assasinate Gamboa at this point.
The fight would be a basic replay of Vitali - Adamek with the bigger guy (Marquez) outboxing and picking apart the smaller man (Gamboa)
Your crazy bro. Dont compare Marquez to Vitali (whos bigger then anybody at HW) or compare gamboa to Ademek (who is good but not a p4p fighter like Gamboa. Marquez is not that big and if you ask me I dont know how the hell gamboa even makes 126, that dudes body is huge. Gamboa is very very good, has great skills and is one of the fastest boxers in the game. Yes Marquez is smarter and a better counterpuncher but I think Gamboa would just be to much for him
Gamboa isn't a big featherweight. I don't know what in the holy **** gives you that impression..... and Juan Manuel has taken on several men just as talented as Gamboa who were much better skilled than Gamboa, so again, I don't know what gives you the impression that a man who is two divisions smaller would give Marquez any problem whatsoever. The comparison still applies, all you'd get in this fight would be a bigger, better man pounding the hell out a lesser, smaller man. :deal
I think it would be a good fight. JMM's not getting any younger and has gone through so many wars now. DLH was 35 when he lost to Pac, granted Gamboa isn't anywhere on the official P4P list as of yet
You can be fast with a TON OF FLAWS versus De Leon, Salido, Mtagwa...etc. But Marquez will eat him alive in rounds 7-12 on his way to a late stoppage. Write in down, IN INK!!!
