No denying that Marquez is still looking good, but at 37 how much longer can he keep going? What are his chances of getting another fight with Pacquiao anyway?
You know, if it's one thing Erik Morales taught us, it's to never underestimate the fortitude of a legend. Nobody gave Morales a chance against Maidana. Yet he went out there and nearly beat Maidana with one eye. It was a spectacular performance by a shot Morales. Who's to say JMM can't have a similar or better performance against Pac? Granted Pac is far above Maidana in terms of skills but JMM is still fighting at a high level and seems to have figured Pacquiao out based on their two fights. Sure, Juan looked awful against Floyd at 147, but Floyd's style gives a lot of fighters problems including guys who naturally fight at 147. It's normal to have JMM as the underdog against Pac. But I find it a little insulting to suggest he has no shot at all, especially when he's the only man to go 24 rds with Pac and not only survive but win more rounds than the Filipino.
that's the smartest thing he could do. He could help his case by becoming a free agent or just sign with TR.
As usual, only Divac can understand JMM. It seems that Pac has an obligation to provide him a retirement fund yet had proved **** to deserve it. A mini-tournament involving Casa, Juan Diaz, and Katsidis at 135 is not exactly a resume deserving of a fight against Pac. The least that he could have done is at least fought at 140 even against the weakest link there, which is probably Devon Alexander. People were questioning why Margarito is deserving of a fight against Pac. Margarito fought clottey, williams, cintron, cotto, mosley. Not all of them winning record but that is what happens when you challenge yourself.
It's been rumored he's resigning for 2 fights with GBP and will fight Zab Judah. Marquez can not handle the outside boxer style because he is a counter puncher. His output is way too low against the outside style and he loses on points.
I wanna see the pac fight, the other fights can wait. Out of curiosity why do all pac fans insist on marquez fighting someone else? It's like marquez is the boogie man picking on pac.

JMM is one of my favorite fighters. Noone has more heart but he had made bad decisions like turning down an immediate rematch with Pac after the 1st fight, turning down another million dollar payday with Morales etc. Anyway i wish him the best but i cant see him beating Pac at welter. he will be facing a stronger Pac and will probably be stopped this time.
Margarito was brutalised by Mosley and subsequently banned for a year.... one decision win over a bum shouldn't merit a big fight. Clottey hasn't ever beaten anyone apart from Zab for God's sake. Mosley had a year off after the Margo fight through no fault of his own, was dominated by Mayweather and then couldn't beat Sergio Mora. Marquez has stopped Casamayor, Diaz and Katsidis since the last Pac fight..... I think that beats any of those three hands down.
