Future HOF no doubt, great technician and boxer, huge heart

That should be enough said right there, but tell me why are so many folks putting this dude on such a HIGH pedestal? Folks want to hate on lil floyds resume but his still shits on this

Before people start getting all emotional and start to nag, by STRICTLY going on paper, things would beg to differ about how high of a pedestal folks are putting him.

    His first fight, he lost

His second loss came to Freddie Norwood

Fought a great battle with Manny and showed a lot of heart, but in actuality, was lucky to leave with a draw and not the L, had the judge correctly counted his score card (0-0-1)

Instead of fighting a rematch right after, he beat Salido and Polo but then went on to lose to Chris John and for that fight, got enough money to buy a mini-meal (hope people see the metaphore)

Beat Marco (after manny, whom many already said was out of it)

Fought another great battle with manny again, but to show no W (0-1-1)

Had trouble with a washed up Casamayor

Was getting an ass kicking from Baby bull, before he was able to show that heart and knock him out

Got an ass whoopin from lil Floyd

Beat Katsidis (but who has he really beaten)

    Fought Ramos (who)

and recently, lost yet again to Manny (0-2-1)

Besides his 3 great battles with manny (not even a styles make fights type thing, I say he's just that Frazier to Ali type thing) on paper, just doesn't seem that strong

Who else has this dude beat to make people put him on such a high pedestal.

It's his recent fight with manny that are making people praise this dude like no other

Before his fight with manny, "he belong's no where above 135"

After, "he can compete and beat all these guys"

I mean be real, if he could've, don't you think he would've. Giving props to someone for having a great fight (with someone who he's supposed to have his number) doesn't really translate for how he'd do, best way to have known, is if he did it, but, he didn't. Before his fight with manny there were a lot of people he could've fought, yet he chose to fight the guy in which he know's he has his number (yet still can't seem to get a W)

Another note, Why doesn't he want to fight morales? not even talking about before, how about right now

for the folks who think i'm straight dissin, go back to the top and look what i've said about him in that first line. This is simply asking the question why is he on such a high pedestal (flavor of the month?) when STRICTLY LOOKING on paper, it really isn't that beefed up

His resume is simply overlooked. Look deeper.

And just for your information, Marquez lost his first fight by disqualification in the 1st round and later learned that the doctor and/or referee owned a piece of his opponent, and when he fought Casamayor, Nacho explicitly instructed him to give him the first rounds of the first half of the fight; he never struggled and was always in control before becoming the first man to stop him.

    Look deeper, as in who?

Yea I know his first fight was a dq, but because folks like to bring up old stupid **** like torrecampo or castillo for lil floyd, I thought why can't I do it here too

Ok, so he took it easy on casamayor, so, good for him, casamayor mustve really been a pos then if you need to take it easy...who the f goes into a fight and has to "take it easy", that right there should be a clear sign that dude isn't fighting any good opposition if he needs to "take it easy"

You didn't answer the question of "why is he on such a high pedestal" when given the look of him on paper, it isn't that strong, you said look deeper, but who am I looking for?

Where are those guys u mentioned now, who did they beat really

 so that's why people put him on such a pedestal?

folks want to talk boxing, yet they want to put him #2/3 p4p when he's had nothing or recent to show for it (beating Ramos and losing to manny?)

If folks were really bein real then ward (if he gets passed froch) should be above him

JMM owns Pacquiao, therefore he owns Pac's opponents. - floyd fans logic..

JMM has proven to be p4p better than Pac... Deal with it and move on fool. If JMM had Pac's steroid strength, he would be unstoppable to most except Mayweather. That is why he is ranked IMO P4P #2.

    great post

instead of attempting to answer the question you quickly assume the position of "jmm is better than pac"

you know this has nothing to do with manny, yet you bring up his name

I don't have to deal with anything, the dude is 0-2-1 as far as paper goes, it's you and many other's who need to accept the fact that he didn't get the W

"Pac's steroid strength" (side note: yo bozo, and these are the one's you want to have boxing talks with, this dude clearly didn't see what was being asked then quickly posted some garbarge bs, and yet you get mad at me for when i use a certain name to give someone, when I don't even have the intention of putting them down, unlike this *** right here?)

how am i hating, the first thing i began with was praise

i simply asked a question about why do people have him so high on a pedestal when on paper, his resume isn't as beefy, and I was also asking to show me who sticks out on his resume

lil floyd still has those names on his resume though, and besides manny, who else do YOU think stands out,

    whats up with the insults?

(side not: how bout this bozo, talking boxing, yet still getting insulted)

A vast majority of posters had Marquez beating Pacquiao in their 3rd encounter, many many had him winning at least one of their two previous encounters, and considering Norwood and John are universally considered robberies, the man has never been decisively defeated below 144 (where he lost against against a stylistic foil in poor condition) despite the fact he all but cleared out each division he fought in, when he wasn't being ducked. That's All-Time-Greatness. That's an accomplished fighter.

His status was secured even before he reigned supreme at lightweight despite being years past his physical prime and considerably higher than his best weight (see vid.)

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=93FGqJiEkWo&feature=player_embedded[/ame]

To go along with such longevity and consistency in top-level competition, he has one of the most complete skill-sets of all time, is one of the best and most aesthetically pleasing combination punchers all time, shows intelligence but is capable of giving exciting action, is one of the few of his countrymen to win championships in 3 (arguably) 4 weight-classes, has proven himself as ab exceptionally case within the sport's history of a fighter capable in the face of adversity, and has never conducted himself with anything but pure class.

    Get it now?

no argument in how good he is/was, the point was to hear what other's (who had him on such a high pedestal) would say given his resume

so far, only you've supplied some possible reasoning, while others went a different route

max actually used morales and duck in the same sentence

Can't help but chuckle (to say the least) at what you've just written here Bogotazo, mi paisano. I hope you can say what i have quoted with a straight face and unsullied integrity. Utterly cringe-worthy, to say the least.

He has only been beaten once in my opinion and thats against Floyd. The man is tehcnically beautiful to watch as he is the best example of how a fighter should throw a punch. Clearly the best textbook boxer in the world.
