Counter punching combo punching body punching great with good speed good power and solid set of whiskers

    Vs

Non stop no holds barred relentless buss saw with great speed and brilliant accumulative power and another solid set whiskers. Also with underlying unsung boxing skills

Styles make fights, and although I'm a huge Aaron Pryor fan this could be a tough night for him, Marquez is a better counter puncher than arguello and quicker. The hawk needs to set the pace early on and if he can use his superior foot speed and hand speed he might be able to get the decision and embarrass the slower Marquez like floyd and Bradley did, but then Pryor weren't hard to time he was always throwing.

pryor comes out swinging and wins the early rounds, perhaps even getting a flash knockdown. Marquez simply needs time to finds his timing and rhythm and when he does this unfolds like a very exciting, typical JMM fight with Marquez landing the clean, more effective blows and Pryor causing trouble with his speed and workrate.

A close, entertaining fight in the vein of pacquiao-marquez 2, a fight I believe JMM won 115-112

I see this one going the same way

Marquez was too durable, a smarter boxer, fought a larger array of better opponents and isn't afraid of anyone. I think he gut out a decision.

I'd think this would be Pryor/JMM Trilogy. 2-1 Pryor due to Juans's terrible luck with rematches.....

Marquez is brilliant but he isn't the biggest 140-pound fighter around. His perfect professional, gritty mindset can only get you so far against an almost equally talented, bigger man who will force the issue from round one.

I'd make Pryor a decent favorite.

Pryor is the natural 140 pounder here so it's a bit unfair to Marquez to go at it at this weight class.

Big fan of JMM...but Pryor is too much to deal with. Pryor would arguello him.

I just realized another disadvantage Marquez has in this match -- most anyone can put a counter on Pryor. It comes with the territory for him.

I think Pryor has to be a clear favourite here. But his wildness would play in favor of the great counter-puncher Marquez, so who knows ? It would have been an extraordinary fight anyway.

Pryor would win by TKO. He was considerably bigger than Marquez, and spent most of his career at 10 pounds or so higher than Marquez.

He was also a much better finisher than Pacquiao, and would tko Marquez as soon as he hurt him seriously.

This is a borderline mismatch (not because of skill level, but because of size and style match ups).

Pryor Wide UD or TKO. He outhustles, outmanouvers & outmuscles Marquez for the majority of the bout. He'd be too fast & too powerful. Marquez has some success countering - but it doesn't have the desired effect as he usually does because Pryor is incredibly strong & durable.

This, I think Marquez would be looking great with flashy counters snapping Pryors head back and winning many rounds before the end comes when he's pinned against the ropes after being nailed and the Hawk launches an all out assault stopping him in the 11th
