He could punch, he could put his punches together. He was very all around doing a bit of everything. He came up out of the Santos Zacarias style of boxing, so that´s why... Zacarias believed boxer-punchers were the best type of fighters, not being a coincidence that he was a Joe Louis fan... so you can make here a comparison with Jack Blackburn. I just said that because this guy, Zacarias, made Coggi from the beggining, he made Coggi, so everything in Coggi´s style has to do with him. Every time you watch Coggi remember this name Santos Zacarias, because you are seeing his ideias there. Watch Sergio Victor Palma too to get a ideia,.... plant you feet in the ground, punch with the waist rotation, all the stuff we all read about Joe Louis style... Sure, Coggi vs Gonzalez is a disgrace, has been discussed here before, even in the rematch there was some strange stuff..... very wrong with Gonzalez. Coggi though always acted like no shady stuff happened there and will be angry and very hostile if anyone brings it up.
He definitely shouldn’t join this forum then because we’d bring it up. Seriously though, I thought Coggi had a great work rate and was strong as an ox in that Argentine factory down there that produced so many with that emphasis on bull-like strength. I just never liked that home-cooking with national or WBA officials
