A now 12-0 (6) light welterweight prospect hailing from Queretaro, Mexico, he just scored a pretty notable upset on the road in a step up in class with a unanimous decision over Aram Fanayan in Kiev. I scored it a draw, but Tellézgirón scored a knockdown against the craftier stylist and kept himself in the fight until the late going with some determined pressure and consistently damaging body work. He isn't a monster puncher but he is relentless, gutsy, and can probably beat a lot of more skillful opponents by dragging them into wars of attrition. He claims the vacant WBC Youth 140lb title with the victory. It would be interesting to see the nineteen-year-old matched against some fellow young hot shots on the domestic scene, like Óscar Duarte Jurado (whom I think is slightly overrated).
Good, make this young bucks fight each other. I'm tired of seeing these young guys search far and wide for ancient fighters who were killers 5-10 years ago trying to make a name off them. 140 is wide open for some new blood to rise up and fight each other. Hope this guy gets an early shot.
