Angulo is a JM and Roldan a big Middle. Its to early to tell yet as Angulo hasnt faced the level of comp to really tell how good he will be. Roldan had some good wins (Fletcher,Kinchen,WIlliamson) and also gave a prime Hagler a tough fight as well as putting a scare into Hearns. As of right know id have to say Roldan since he is the more proven fighter. You could have saved this matchup for at least another year, when we know exactly how good Angulo will end up being.
We know that Roldan's heart could be taken when faced with adversity, but not just every tough guy could beat him, otherwise Frank Fletcher would have gotten the job done. Angulo at the moment looks like a tough contender in the junior middleweight division but we don't know if he has that special quality yet that it took to beat a prime Roldan as Hearns and Hagler did, and I personally can't see him going that far. So I'd take the bigger Roldan to win here much like he did against another light middleweight in Fletcher.
Angulo is just hype now. His wins have been ok, but Roldan fought at a higher level like you guys have said. Roldan punched hard and was a solid guy. What he did to Fletcher and Kinchen was dismantlings. Fletcher was outcold face first and he was a good fighter. I pick Roldan to outclass Angulo at this point.
If Kermit Cintron can outpoint Angulo, then Roldan can KO him, esp. how he gave Hagler all he could handle before going down.
This is the one time where i believe the fighters excuses. Angulo really didnt look himself and i can guarantee a knockout win in a rematch. Even being sick he still made it close with his late rally.
