Who wins this, a clash of strong, high-workrate, come-forward juggernauts - one with jaw-dropping power and one with a power-stopping jaw? Size would be a minor factor: Urango has a slim height and moderate reach advantage, but Diaz is a large lightweight, and has fought at 140 before. Diaz is probably the better boxer but is not a slick lateral mover. Urango will not fail to land on him. On the other hand, if Diaz can take those shots, he is sure to land 2-3 times as many of his own.

I think Diaz wins this on points.

Urango isn't all that cracking - he was schooled by Ricky Hatton on a poor night for 'The Hitman', so that says it all!

vilches does'nt really tell us much. aside from that, i've only seen urango 2x (rabah, hatton). both times he looked nothing special. all i can say is urango looks like the type that cant be steamrolled. i guess it porbably depends on how torito fights at light welter.

I haven't seen much more of him. But I've never been as impressed by Diaz as many on here. The hype has slowed down a bit since the humbling loss to Campbell, but there are still many who think he beats anyone else at 135 and below. Few mentions have been made of matching him up at higher weights, which would seem a logical eventuality (he certainly isn't moving down any time soon).

I don't think Diaz beats Hatton, at 140 Hatton has never looked like losing - his worst performances at the weight were against Vilches and Urango, and both got schooled!

Diaz is a quality fighter, but I feel he doesn't have the tools necessary.

i have this feeling in the back of my head that diaz wont fair to well at 140. i cant really say why, i just feel his style does'nt translate to well against bigger fighters. his game is backing people up, and he'll probably find that hard against some one like hatton (i'm not even a hatton fan).

diaz is a much better/more accomplished fighter and as long as he is still there after 12 he will have won.

but if i was promoting diaz i would not let him in the ring with urango.

diaz will pepper him all day , but being that diaz is an in the pocket fighter , in against the strongest physical specimen i have ever seen at 140 for sheer upper body size and strength it makes it a very tough strength sapping gruelling war for diaz which he does not need after the cambell fight.

most diaz type fighters tend to fhave a limited ammount of shelf life and only so many wars before they erode.

while i think diaz would beat urango in the long run it will shorten his career.

Urango destroys him by KO. This is a terrible stylistic matchup for Juan Diaz.

While Urango doesn't have much of a jab, he's a huge, hard hitting, slugging, jr welterweight.

There is no way this fight would be able to take place at 135 because Urango is too big, and if Juan goes up, he's done.

Juan's style is as a pressure fighter, and he doesn't have the boxing ability to deal with a guy like Urango. Juan will go straight at him, and that will be his downfall.

    You gotta box Urango.

Also, I don't know how well Juan can take it to the body and Urango WILL test his body.

Wow...a dead split (which makes sense, as I, the balanced voice of reason, picked draw). On ESB that surprises me.

Diaz a clear winner on points, but it could end up being a very good fight.
