His win vs. Vilches was an IBF eliminator. He is now Malignaggi's mandatory challenger. I don't know how long Paulie has to fight him, but if they do fight... who wins?
Both are at a similar level, but Malignaggi's style is perfect to beat Urango. Ricky Hatton, a natural swarmer, outboxed Urango like there was no tomorrow. Malignaggi has more skill, better footwork and has the chin to stay safe until the final bell. Of course, the fact that his fists are lighter than feathers mean he isn't going to hurt the tough Urango, but that's never bothered Malignaggi too much in the past. Zoolander UD12.
The thing with Paulie is he might try to stay and flurry and get KTFO, I have him winning a decision.
Urango was made to look sluggish by Hatton, who is a brawler rather than boxer. Paulie could outbox Urango, but doesn't have the power to keep him off. I could see either a comfortable UD (117-111) or a beating KO9 possibly for Paulie.
Cotto wasn't that great a light-welter - he looked half dead at the weigh in for the Paulie fight! Ngoudjo drew with Paulie IMO, and Urango would be pretty much the same. Herman will now be avoided, given that he lost debatable ones to Castillo and Paulie!
Even though I expect him to win Malignaggi has to get past Lovemore Ndou before this fight will happen.
how about herman vs. urango? then the winner takes on paulie.. this would be a much more better scenario
Paulie by a wide UD, he would have too much for Urango who like mentioned earlier, was sluggish against Hatton
