Back in Puerto Rico, WBO featherweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez had a big smile on his face as watched Celestino Caballero drop a ten round split decision to 13-1 underdog Jason Litzau, which took place on Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Caballero has chased Juanma for at least two years, but the unbeaten Puerto Rican has always maintained that Caballero was not on his level. He says the loss to Litzau proves his opinion.
"I've always said the same thing. He is good fighter but not at my level. He lost to Litzau, who is a good fighter, but not at the elite level. That showed what I've been saying is the truth," Juanma told Alberto Gil.
"Boxing is divided between the classes of 'A', 'B' and 'C'. He is is definitively a 'B', but far from being an 'A', and a lot further away from being an 'A+' like myself and Rafael Márquez have shown to be in the ring. Now he should shut up and try to reach that level," Juanma said.

Caballero vs. Ponce de leon for that #1 contender spot at 126. It's a re-match for them as Cab won back in the day. Ponce is the #1 contender to JuanMa's title.

I hope this fight happens. Caballero still has a chance to climb the rankings, but I think Ponce de Leon could win a decision here

Oh please. The guy was obviously ducking him. He is just glad he didnt have to face him.

I agree that JML is better and i predicted a KO win for him if they faced each other but after Caballero spanked Yordan he looked deadly and too risky for JML.

JuanMa has never wanted to fight Caballero, even though he would more than likely beat him. Caba is a tough opponent and a difficult guy to negotiate with, don't be surprised if this fight NEVER comes off. I doubt it will be Caballero's doing.
