JuanMa is already well tested under pressure(Can't get any more pressured than the Mtagwa fight)

Dude has everything going for him.

He'll have 1 or 2 tune ups, then he'll knock out the top 3 of 126, defend the title a couple of times, and bounce up in weight a bit.

Whats the max weight you seen JuanMa going in his career?

I think he has a good shot, but isn't a shoo-in. Obviously his struggles with Mtagwa (who really is an ordinary fighter) raise some eyebrows, but I think he just fought a dumb fight. In terms of pure talent, he's on a top 5 p4p level even right now; it's just a matter of making him stick to a good game plan.

Good post. His gritty Puerto Rican heart and his belief in his power make him get into unnecessary exchanges. Fighting smart comes with time for a hard puncher. After his last fight I think and hope he makes the necessary adjustments. I hope the best for JuanMa in the future.

I personally think he's all hype. Yes, I'm Puerto Rican and support my fellow boriquas. But eh, I haven't seen anything in this guy.

THANK YOU... +1 .... I hope the best 4 him though.... still looks like a KO waiting to happen after last performance!! Gotta fight Caballero next though, otherwise he's not more than a FMJ alumni.... very disgusting stuff!!! And last but not least...when is he gonna fight elite level guys, I mean, PDL??, c'mon, plz!!! PPL with 12 losses on their records are not worth mentioning and can only diminish your stance at this point of your game, no matter how impressively u cuould've had won.. ..

I didn't know that you love JuanMa. It's not that obvious.

Or just being exposed as not what was once thought. Otherwise I agree with you. The day a guy like JuanMa can rise to P4P #1 status is the day I stop watching the sport.

Good comment. But I don't think he's really one dimensional either. I think he's fairly well-rounded for a guy that hasn't likely matured yet.
