He is the next little man who can succeed Pacquiao as the biggest draw in the next two years. He's exciting and he's undefeated. He's also going up in weight to win more divisional crowns. Like Pac, he has a large PR fanbase. I won't be surprised the moment Pac steps out to retirement, this lad will succeed him. I won't be surprised if he would get a crack to fight Pac someday similar to dela Hoya-Pacquiao fight. I can almost see that this is going to be blockbuster fighter. It could be better than Pac-Cotto fight.

What do you think? Do you know of any fighter who can ably fill Pac's shoes when he retires?

I am with freddy, I was pretty high until his last fast. Don;t misunderstand i think JML has great skill and will be a solid champion, but he will not transcend the sport, much as pacman has now. No shame in being a world champion and a solid, well schooled fighter.

He has the talent but let's wait and see first if he can beat israel vazquez. I saw weakness in lopez's game when he fought penalosa. His defense is not that good. If penalosa had more power i think he would have won that fight. Vazquez defenitely have the power to hurt lopez.

If he can beat vazquez then there's no question how great he will be in the future.

Speed is timing according Floyd Sr. He might be referring to Pac and not to Hatton, though. The fact that the boy has KO rate of 92% (23 out 25) goes to show that he has the speed/timing and the power.

true but vazquez is still his biggest test at 122 lbs. Better test than a caballero fight.

I would like Gamboa to fight Abe Concepcion to test whether he really has the potential.
He has limited number of fights yet at 19 and we cannot gauge if he's really for real.

Juanma has yet to prove himself against a great fighter let alone and elite one. Pacquiao dominated and Ko'ed Barrera,Morales, De la hoya, and Hatton. He also defeated on of the best technicians ever in JMM. There is no comparison.
