He needs to fight israel vazquez before he moves up. Retire vazquez then aim for john-gamboa-juarez at 126. Hopefully if he can beat those guys and jorge linares would clean up the superfeatherweights and we can have a super fight between 2 young stars in Juan Manuel Lopez vs Jorge Linares.

 

SO far, that is not the plan. The plan is to make at least one more fight @122lbs. Arum has a date in September to present Gamboa and Lopez fighting @ MSG. They are working on finding opponents for each of them. But Juanma wants some money. Looks like the choice is Rafa but that is only a remote possibility at this point. Vazquez is heading to 126lbs. The other might be Caballero, Juanma's group don't like him because he doesn't sell as well as MArquez or Vazquez. But I think Juanma would look very good with Caballero's belts. As matter of fact, he would be easier than Rafa. Now, I am sure that if the money offer is good to fight @ 126lbs...............
