I know Juanma is still a rising star, but in a future I would like to see him fight the Vazquez, the Marquez, but first how do you think he matches uo with Caballero

I think Celestino Caballero is the most over rated champion not only at 122lbs but in boxing today! I think Juanma even in recent times will demolish Caballero.

cabellero is fighting a unification bout with steve molitor. molitor would have to take care of a couple madantories after he dismantles cabellero and then i can see him giving juanma a shot for 3 belts with the winner getting sa hot at vazquez.

juanma seens to be the real deal ie the devastating 1st rnd ko of ponce de leon, think molitor would test him and if he came through that, what a fight again vasquez!!

Caballero is quite average, he doesn't have much more than size and awkwardness. Juanma shouldn't have much trouble getting through with his sharper and straighter punches, I don't think he would have trouble hurting Caballero either.

    Juanma Mid-round TKO.

Juanma probably wins. I think the people on this thread are severely underrating Caballero, but I think Juanma beats everyone at 122 except Marquez (yes, I think he beats Vasquez). Caballero would be a live dog though - if he fights smart and keeps Juanma on the outside, he could actually win a decision if he can keep Juanma from getting inside, and if he does get inside, Caballero has a great uppercut for a lanky fighter and enough power to stun and possibly even knock him out.

Caballero has a lot more on his side than size and awkwardness though. He's also a hard puncher when he gets set, and he actually has good boxing skills. Go back and watch his fights with Castillo, Sithchatchawal or Parra and you'll have a different idea of how Caballero can fight when he's actually focused.

Good post. I've watched some Caba fights recently and he is a solid fighter. He is not just tall and lanky, he also packs a good punch and can move pretty decent. Also, he can dehydrate and rehydrate much better than most other boxers, and usually has a pretty big weight advantage in the ring.

I still think Molitor beats him but it will be Molitor's toughest fight in his career.

Juanma by UD ... Caballero isn't all that but he is an othrodox fighter and does use his right hand quite often ... Lopez would have to neutralize that right hand and box him to get the victory. There is a chance the KO will come but it wouldn't matter because he'll beat Caballero either way it goes.

Nice post, Brick. I actually think Cabllero is a pretty good fighter. Not great, but I think he's better than a lot people think.
