JuanMa Lopez vs. Israel Vazquez....who wins rigtht now?

Right now maybe Lopez.

Juanma's speed ain't bad either, plus Vaz has had to many wars and gets hit a lot.

 

Lopez

 

Going out on a limb a little saying Lopez but not that much...Izzy could well be finished..Lopez is a little green and if anything Vasquez is battletested but that can often turn into battleworn at this point in his career.

I think stylistically and technically Lopez would have posed problems for even a prime Vasquez anyway.

So apart from if he comes back in the form of his life..I say JuanMa gets the eventual stoppage.

As someone esle touched on, I'd like to see Vazquez in a tune up first. That said, if Vazquez was fighting at his peak then I think he'd beat Juanma. Juanma has a reputation but how would he cope against someone as seasoned as Vazquez? For me, Vazquez has too much heart, skill and intensity for Lopez to cope with.

No defensive specialist by any means but I can not recall a fight where he wasnt dishing out 3 times the leather he was taking back.

 

Would be a great fight. Hope it gets made soon, but I heard that Izzy is thinking about moving up.

Despite the little time he spent against Ponce de Leon he was getting wacked with multiple left hands by a very crude fighter, and Penalosa couldn't miss him with a counter right hook all night... and neither of those two guys is anywhere near the same caliber fighter that Vazquez is. Now what do you think will happen to Lopez once Vazquez manages to get in close on him? :!: That's what. :yep

 

Well I think he didn't think Penalosa could hurt him, so he felt no need to be defensive in that fight. Gotta watch the De Leon fight again, but I don't remember him getting hit much by De Leon thought he was using good defence and counterring PDL.

 

This fight is a 50/50. You can never count a guy like Vasquez out, NEVER. I think Vasquez is a lil war torn, after a detached retina, a broken nose, and broken knuckles. He has been tested against a lengthy and strong fighter in Osacar Larios (Who by the way went 12 rounds with Pac at 130 lbs). Lopez is a hot young champ and a lion in the ring. If Vasquez is still in his prime, which I have my doubts, then i would pick him to win by a hair in another bloody war.

If Vasquez fights Marquez or Lopez, it should be PPV. Im sure no one would mind to pay for those fights and give Vasquez a much deserved big pay day.

 

I still wouldnt call that getting hit a lot, Lopez was going for the finish pretty much as soon as the bell rung against Ponce De Leon, you are obviously going to leave yourself a bit open there...Gerry was throwing next to nothing that night compared and its really no suprise if he had a high connect rate, as that was often his modus operandi ..but I would seriously shocked if he he landed more then 150 punches total on Juan who was having his way with him.

Izzy would likely lay him out pretty early if he can land often...and should be favoured to do it really at this stage.
