HBO offered to make this fight happen April 4. The article just came out in the island newspaper.

    Nice.

Does JuanMa become the first man to stop Penalosa, or does he get some rounds in and show his boxing ability?

I honestly think he might knock him out, he has devastating power.

I expect De Leon will outbox Gerry from the beginning, possibly stopping him on accumulation late in the fight. If he could overpower Penalosa in the first third of the fight though, that would be a huge statement.

It should be a good fight. Penalosa is old but can still fight. He reminds me of winky wright defensively. I see lopez winning this fight by majority decision but not by knockout. Penalosa has a solid chin and great defense.

Penalosa was being outboxed by the taller Jhonny Gonzalez until he got caught by a surprising bodyshot. If not Gonzalez goes on and beats him via UD. I would expect JuanMa to KO him within the first five rounds.

I would expect this to look like the smaller less talented version of Whitaker-Trinidad.

The older fighter shows some of the heart and skill that made him so tremendous in his prime but at the end of the day youth and power are simply too much for the faded dog.

Juan Ma UD over 12 in a spirited fight.

Even Daniel De Leon outboxed him, so it's almost certain JuanMa will win, the question is does it go the distance?

I mean Penalosa obviously dealt with DPDL's power, but obviously JuanMa is a much better technical shot and so has a chance of landing with something more, I think he hits harder than De Leon anyway personally.

No idea why, but I've got a feeling that with them both being southpaw's, they'll be a headclash with JuanMa cut and the fight stopped around 7 or 8, with it going to the cards and Lopez taking a technical decision.

Interesting fight. If Penelosa trains to keep his left hand pinned to his chin he should give a good scrap. I pick JuanMa via late stoppage or UD.

I'm afraid the Gonzalez fight was Penalosa's last hurray. After getting dominated for half the fight, he was fortunate enough to find gonzalez' body, but Lopez is whole different animal imo. He's too old and too slow and this point to be seen as a threat.

Penalosa's corner would throw in the towel somewhere in the mid rounds.

I pick Penalosa to display veteran moves to befuddle JuanMa and win by close decision.

Gerry is at his best if his opponent comes straight at him..If Juanma decides to do that which I know he will, Penalosa will have a chance ..but then if Gerry catches the big one on the chin, it will all be over. but I will be rooting for Gerry.

JuanMa by KO 6. Im beleive Gerry will last the early rounds but will eventually get broken. JuanMa has a killer punch but he also showed some good skills in his early fights before he started KTFO his opponents.

juanma will take this, but never by KO. penalosa has a very solid chin. never seen him in trouble.
