i can't make any decision untill i see how much Marquez has left, but even the Marquez that fought Izzy would still have a very tough time with Juanma, he's just such a complete fighter it's hard to see any naturally smaller go beating him....
Reports from Rafa's camp say that he is looking pretty shitty so at this point I'd say Juanma. Even at his best Marquez would have his hands full.
Rafa is fighting on the Jhonny Gonzalez fight undercard on the 23rd in a WBC Title Eliminator. So my guess would be that provided both Rafa and Jhonny win their fights like I think they will that fight will be made. I think Rafa might be done so I see Jhonny winning that and then hopefully at the beggining of next year we can see Gonzalez-Lopez. For know I think it is important that Juanma is kept busy he will only get bigger and bigger as people see more of him, I hope Bob and Juanma are patient the big fights will come. In my mind I am thinking he has a few options, how about a fight with Antonio Escalante, the winner of Heribreto Ruiz-Steve Molitor, Lorenzo Parra or Jorge Lacierve. I think he should be out again in August some time and then again in December. Then he can have a big unification fight in March and after that he can move up to Featherweight.
If the Penalosa fight showed us anything, is that Lopez has trouble with counter-punchers and only has a straight line style. If Marquez is not washed up he could very well take Lopez to hell and back.
This is a shockingly easy destruction for Juanma. Sadly, Rafa Marquez is a shell of his former self. He's a badly shot fighter. Bet the house on Juanma -- and bet the 'under'.
