    Yes, JuanMa is all about the money. We all know that. I'm just pointing out that there is next to no chance of him ever fighting Caballero. That's a fight I wanted to see, but I've given up on it. It's never going to happen.

    I wouldnt give up hope. JML should fight Cab no doubt about it, but he is not nearly as attractive as John and Gamboa. I have no doubt in my mind that if JML doesnt fight Cab in March he will fight him after John and Gamboa. Cab just needs to keep fighting and winning, make JML fight you that way. As far as JML getting all the heat for not fighting Cab, its very well deserved because after all fans want it and fighters should comply.

    in caballero's latest interview he says that he wants the juanma fight in puerto rico, that shows he has the confidence to KO juanma.

    it's clear to see that caballero wants the fight and juanma doesn't.

    New B-scene article.

    Caballero says that JuanMa needs to fight in PR to earn respect.

    Caballero really wants this fight. Reminds me of when Junior Witter said he would fight Ricky Hatton for free.

    Caballero's latest interview on youtube, brief but makes his point. caballero reminds me of a calm down ricardo mayorga, willing to fight anyone, anywhere, its a shame juanma doesn't have the same attitude.

    Totally agree that gamboa should fight john and juanma should fight caballero, however be ready for juanma to fight one of those fighter (gamboa) most likely at the end of next year. Gamboa will not fight caballero and neither will juanma because arum says so. He is getting all the juice out of these potential megafight, why risk it?.

    Cotto fights and he demands the big fights, unfortunately lopez does not want the big fights. You could see it in his demeanor when they ask him if he wants to fight such and such fighter, his voice does not seem motivated or anxious when answering. When a fighter is asked such a questions if he really wants the fight you can hear it in his response. There is anxiety and desperation for the wanting to get in the ring as soon as possible and face that so called fighter that is calling you out, not in this case when it comes to caballero.

    Saturday night Featherweight Champion Juan Manuel Lopez stopped an injured Rafael Marquez with an 8th round TKO after Marquez was unable to continue. The fight showed that Lopez was able to beat a big name fighter who is past his prime. It provided Lopez a fat payday and a big name to help pad a resume that is being carefully crafted by his promoter Bob Arum.

    After the fight, Lopez already hinted that a rematch would be welcomed. And why not? In Marquez, Lopez has a capable, credible fighter to square off with. Marquez will bring a nice fan base, a huge pay day, and most importantly a name that he can point to when people ask who he has really fought. Two victories over a man of Marquez's stature provides validity to the record of Lopez. Of course the Marquez of today is a shell of his former, once great self.
    And that is just how Lopez wants it.

    Bob Arum is a master of making good fighters look great. Carefully provide a fighter with a mix of cans, fringe contenders, and past their prime legends, and you can convince the masses that you have a fighter of superstar proportions. No fighters reflect this practice better than Lopez and one of Arum's other talented fighters, Yuriokis Gamboa. Nobody would deny that both these men are talented, dangerous opponents for anyone they meet up with. But the astute boxing fan might wonder if they are really all they are cracked up to be.

    Lopez in particular has a history of looking like a man who is unwilling to accept a real challenge. The fight with Marquez was intended to show that Lopez was willing and able to beat even the greatest in the division. But in reality, it was further proof that Juanma is far from being ready or capable to beat the best in the sport.

    Lopez has often been quoted saying that he will fight anyone, anywhere. Yet when confronted with challenges, Arum steps in and deftly points him in a safer direction. Lopez's fans quickly point out that the new direction makes much more sense financially. No reason to take a real chance when safer, more financially sound options are available.

    Of course Arum will use this philosophy exclusively until it is time for him to change course. When is it time to switch directions? When it benefits Bob Arum, of course. It has been clear for quite some time that Arum is building his two fighters up for an eventual epic showdown to prove who is the best in the world. It more likely will prove who is the best Bob Arum Featherweight fighter.

    Arum, who is fiercely protective of his fighters records, will jump at this chance once he has decided he can make the most possible money from sacrificing one of his fighters. The loser? Well he can easily rebuild towards a rematch of course! And the winner will bring in even more money for Arum, a man who has never been accused of putting anyone else's interests before his own.

    The thing that has me laughing is I'm trying to find JuanMa's responses to Caballero but there's none out there, he's just taking this like a *****.

    when caballero gets a KO on the undercard of katsidis vs marquez a fight between him and juanma would be a career high payday for BOTH fighters. fighters box for two reasons, the payday and the respect. at the moment caballero has the respect, he might not have an unbeaten record but he is willing to fight anyone, anywhere. he fought in thailand to win the WBA title and he did it buy knockout, then he fought in canada for the IBF title and again knocked out the home boy. all this was at 122 when juanma was also the WBO champion, caballero wanted to unify and offered juanma the fight, but juanma declined and fought WBO mando's and bums.

    people overestimate how much of a draw juanma is, i don't see him making 3-4 million dollars for a fight, don't talk him up like he is floyd mayweather. he has only been able to draw a crowd in madison square gardens, tell me a puerto rican champion who hasn't been able to do that. and his first fight in vegas against a legend only brought 5,000 people to the venue, doesn't sound like the next boxing cash cow, does it?

    As said many times if I was Juanma or his team I will avoid Chris John. Caballero is more of his style... Chris John is a very good boxer with ring smarts. Still shaking my head of people saying Juanma is ducking, still he wants to fight Chris John who has a great record with good names under his expereince.:patsch
