If JuanMa loses this fight I will be shocked. I just don't think he can take Lopez' punch. Too big, too strong. Lopez feels this is his chance to destroy a legend and I think he will do so. Don't be surprised if this fight doesn't make it to the 5th round.
I'll take the guy who has proven he can be dangerous when hurt and can at this age box and punch like this in his last two fights - [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kaWedj4G2s[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tso4HFDlbrY&NR=1[/ame] Over a relatively flatfooted fighter with a somewhat lazy guard who relies on his athleticism and power and gets easily dropped by a lesser fighter when trying to finish him in his last fight (3:25)- [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-KDtGnivLI[/ame] I won't be surprised if Lopez can get the job done, and he's likely to be part of the future of the division if not number 1, but in his present state he might not be able to outdo Marquez.
Good post Slip! I just watched the 3rd fight against Vasquez and noticed how Izzy was nailing Rafa with his left hook. JuanMa has a faster and more accurate left, IMHO. I hope Rafa has worked on avoiding/countering the left and comes in with a crip right, but still the bigger JuanMa should take it before the tenth.
I'm going with Marquez vs the rinse and repeat Lopez and do not think he is as faded as most. Lopez seems chinny. Marquez will land power shots. I think Arums gamble goes terribly wrong here.
Juanma KO in the 8th-9th round. Marquez knocksdown Juanma early but the banger gets up and beats him. It will be a good fight.
