Salido doesn't exactly have the best whiskers himself. Not as bad as Lopez, but not rock solid either.
Was a nicely placed check hook that caught Salido on the way in, and dropped him to a knee. Arguably, the right hand that Salido nailed JuanMa with a few seconds before that was a harder punch. Lopez seemed pretty rocked by that shot.
He was badly hurt, IMO. He tried to get up quick, but I don't think his legs responded, thus the reason he took the eight count on one knee. As a savvy veteran, he took the count, gathered his wits as much as he could during those 8-10 second it took to engage JML, and then clinched.
He ran into a short right hook. So what? Salido was backing this ***** up bigtime. He got a little careless being over aggressive. **** happens... Good thing he got up so he could continue the carnage.
I just do...it all starts with his face & that nickname of his. And after I saw just how dirty a fighter he can be, I really hate his ass now. That ****in PR ref didn't say **** when "juanma" was holding behind the head with one hand & trying to uppercut Salido with the other. Plus elbows to Salido's face & a bite that I really didn't see but there are threads about it. :fire
Completely agree. And instead of 0:03 remaining, put :10-:15 on the clock and Juanma stops him in that round.
Did you read the additions to my post? Yeah, I'm very happy now that Salido finished this guy off for a 2nd time. That was FOTY we just witnessed.
It was a nice shot, but a non factor. Juanma was running on fumes when he landed it. Flash KD. No more. No less.
I can't really hate too much on someone who goes balls out the way he did in that fight, and willingly takes the fight to someone who was torching him repeatedly with right hands. If we saw the FOTY- and we may well have even though 2012 is still young- his decision to stand and trade is big reason for it. That being said, he was coming off as being a bit of a wanker, even before the interview. The fact that he was repeatedly looking to the official and complaining about Salido's infractions, while holding and hitting and fighting just as dirty seemed a bit hypocritical, if you ask me.
[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gclA7F66Wp8&feature=related[/ame] Please, Salido didn't even knew where he was. Watch how he walks into his corner. Watch 5:06-
I guess I can give Lopez credit for giving a good effort. Salido's better punching technique & work rate is Lopez's Kyrptonite, & no matter how big that jaw is, it has many cracks in it... You could see from the start that Lopez was protecting his chin by back-peddling alot. He knew it could let him down again & it did.
