Neither made the weight. What gives???

Is it because no titles are on the line?

 

Santa Cruz is in top shape for this one... Dont be shocked if you see Zab do his little dance again here.

 

Yeah, not much incentive in a 10-rounder. It's not like there's the fear of purses being withheld.

Plus, Zab was only a pound off, compared to three pounds over for Cruz. That's surprising. The guy who's fought in his biggest moments at welterweight (and as high as light middleweight!) is closer than the career lightweight. :think

 

He did knock down a still-sharp lightweight Casamayor, which is an achievement, but he's also been put down himself a dozen or so times in his career (by some lesser hitters than Judah). It all adds to the intrigue.

 

Contracted weight is 143lbs, both made it.

 

good point though i was surprised that santa cruz looks like the bigger man (a good deal taller too) in photos

Santa Cruz looks...like just some skinny dude off the street. You wouldn't know he's an athlete.

 

How small is zab really supposed to be?

 

I don't think Casamayor cared about fighting Santa Cruz which is why he (should have) lost. I think Zab kills this guy.
