That seems incredibly dangerous to me, knowing that Judah can be KO'd, and considering this guy has a good recent name on his record with Vivian Harris. Alright, he's not the best name you can knock out, but it's not like he's been knocking out nobodies looking at this. Any thoughts on this? I thought Judah was just fighting a nobody.
Could this be HBO trying to feed the vet to a possible "New Blood"? (Barrera Vs. Pacquiao comes to mind)
Never used to like Judah but he seems to be turning into a fight anyone veteran who is prepared to earn a last shot at the big time, cant fault him for that. I met Judah briefly when he came to Cardiff for the WBC awards night and completely changed my opinion of him, he was an absolute gent. Perhaps he is maturing with age which is a good thing for his career and life outside of it, I give him a shot against anyone at 140lbs, style wise he is a nightmare for Kahn. Go Zab
The win over Harris was the result of one of the worst stoppages I've ever seen. Matthyse really isn't all that. He can punch, so I guess it's dangerous in that regard but it's only right that Zab should have to beat a couple of guys like this before landing another big fight.
I'd like nothing more than for Judah to do his thing... Him @ 140lbs is a potential barn burner Vs. Anyone. (Imagine him Vs. Ortiz)
Matthysse isn't that good. It's a somewhat intriguing matchup and HBO had an open slot. Whoever wins does move into position for a major fight.
High risk, low reward fight by the looks of it. I hope he pulls through so we can see him in some real interesting fights.
Haven't seen the guy fight, but it seems like he's another Abregu to help Judah get some credibility in the weight class.
it is a risky fight and all, but I think Judah is going to take this somewhat easily. Lucas doesnt seem to punch as hard as his record suggests, and his win over Harris almost shouldnt count. Lucas is slow like Abregu and Zab is fast like Bradley, so Judah will take this either by late uppercut or a wide decision
At 140.....Judah's a ****in problem for anyone! Period. Due to his weakness.....which is a HUGE part of boxing. Sometimes he fails.... Mentally, Zab has shown deficencies. A lot of that had to do with having talent that very few could match, part was having to do with him being young and OVER confident and a lot had to do with "getting by" in his preparations. If Zab is for real....and he's matured enough to take his craft seriously he'll be the undisputed Jr WW champ in my opinion. We've got some great young fighters out there right now but Zab is operating with more talent and overall ability....ALONG with the experience to finish out his career on a high note.
