I think that Hatton is the better fighter, certainly at 140 whilst probably being on a par at 147. However, Zab would have a certain stylistic advantage - namely his stance and signature punch, neither of which Hatton finds easy to deal with. If Ricky used his boxing skills (last seen in the first four rounds against Urango/first three against Castillo) then he would have a chance, as he ate a lot less leather in those fights than in subsequent bouts against Mayweather and Lazcano. This simply smacks of Zab admitting he is done and wanting a payday - he cannot handle the top names at 147 so thinks that by boiling down to 140 he can beat up on some smaller guy. Hatton breaks him down and either stops him late or wins close but clear UD.
Judah is a quitter who has no Chin, no heart, and is mentally weak. He is a Glass Jawed joke. Who would want to see him back on TV again unless it is to get knocked out?
i agree, good post. i think hatton would have a lot of trouble with judah's speed in the earlier rounds.
I pick Judah. Faster, and a much harder punch. The fact that Zab has tuckered out late in tough fights isn't a factor here. Going into the late rounds, it would be Hatton all beat up. Zab tko 11.
I don't think Judah's speed would be that much of an issue - it would be the southpaw stance that would make Ricky have kittens Hatton's weaknesses are a southpaw right hook and a short left - Zab's signature is the uppercut, but Hatton is a master at smothering the opponent and denying the opportunity to get shots off. I wouldn't imagine Zab would enjoy having his ribcage re-arranged either.
