Is there a more delusional group of fans than the Judah fans? If there are i havent seen them, the guy hasnt beat a good fighter in years and his fans act like hes still a top fighter, just face it the guy is finished and has been for years, hes nothing more than a stepping stone for up and coming fighters who want to make a name for themselves by beating a former champion.
Very true. AT this stage of his career he's coming to fight and knows he cant afford anymore mistakes or its over.
I like Zab, he is a talented fighter. The word is out on him though. He is ferocious for two maybe three rounds and then he fades. I'm sure that he will "Have a great training camp" "Prepare like he has never done before" and "Rekindle his passion for boxing" for this fight the usual lines. But this is what Devon needs right now, he is going to have everyones attention for this fight and he will shine against a well known name. Don King isn't stupid why risk a fight against Bradley or Peterson now when they can build up his name recognition first.
clottey got tagged up early on and it took a while to figure judah out, and even then the fight was anything but one sided. mayweather got outboxed the majority of the first 4 rounds and who knows what would of happened if the brawl wouldn't have transpired, and cotto judah was a legit fight of the year candidate. relative ease? i really think not. and besides, clottey, mayweather and cotto are not only top welterweights, but top pound for pound candidates at least when considering mayweather and cotto. clottey is at least a peripheral pound for pound candidate. I expect a tough fight for young devon, whether it's in st. louis, the garden, or anywhere else. zab judah is still a very dangerous opponent, especially for a young up and comer like alexander, sublime skills or not.
how many years has it been since Judah fought at 140? A lot. He's talked and talked about going back down there but still has not. Alexander would put a savage beating on him.
Zab should have more money then Mayweather and Pac combined much as he fight anybody thats wants to fight he fights. He is the gate keeper. If you can beat judah you become a star considered an elite he is the key to your career. I didnt think devon upercut was so great until i saw his bicep and i said maybe the uppercut is a bit soul crushing. Battle of the sneaky uppercuts man it will be ill
Alexander's management team is throwing him to the wolves if he fights Zab. Super Zab is going to turn back the clock and implement another NYC ass whooping in the Lou. This will be Spinks/Judah II all over again.
I dont want to see this fight. What has Zab done in the last few years to deserve a shot? He has 0 quality wins since 2005. When he interrupted the post fight interview Saturday I cracked up laughing. It was more like an opening stand up comedy act for Kingpin Johnson than a real call out.
Judah landed nothing of note. He was broken down and eventually quit Judah had two good rounds(round 2 and 4) Round 1 was a feel out round and he lost round 3. He got his ass kicked from rounds 5-11 and Floyd toyed with him in the 12th. If it weren't for the brawl, Zab may have gotten his as knocked out. That was a relatively easy fight for Mayweather. After about 3 rounds, Judah got pummeled for the rest of the fight and was eventually stopped. I think you mean perennial, not peripheral. And no, Clottey is not a perennial p4p candidate. Zab is his only noteworthy win. Judah is washed up. Not only that, but Judah hasn't fought at 140 in 6 years. Expect him to be drained as well if he has to come all the way down to 140.
